Our mission: to attract and empower future Farm Bureau leaders and increase the interest in ag!

Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) is an organization of young professionals in agriculture and related fields, committed to professional development, networking and social opportunities. YF&R is a sub-committee organized under the Monterey County Farm Bureau and San Benito County Farm Bureau of California.

---Meetings---
Our Central Coast YF&R committee meets on a regular basis to discuss issues affecting agriculture and to develop methods for promoting our county’s agriculture industry. Our monthly meetings are generally held at the Monterey County Farm Bureau office every third Wednesday at 5:30PM.

---Why Join?---
The biggest advantage to participating in the YF&R program is the chance to meet people from all parts of California. This opportunity is made available during State YF&R sponsored events, such as the YF&R Leadership Conference, Legislative Program, Discussion Meet, Outstanding Young Farmers & Ranchers Achievement Award and other regional or county events. The caliber of individuals participating in the program is very high. Everyone reaps the benefits from the varied backgrounds and experience that this group has to offer.

So, what is Farm PAC? Farm PAC is California Farm Bureau’s political action committee. It supports political candidates who understand the challenges facing agriculture and work toward policies that benefit California farmers, ranchers, and growers.

As the next generation of agricultural leaders, we’re proud to play a part in supporting the industry we care about.

And now, we’re passing along a friendly challenge to SLO County Young Farmers & Ranchers to match our $1,000 contribution! 👀🌾

Join us for our final meeting of 2026 as we gather for a cozy Fireside Chat with Norm Groot, Monterey County Farm Bureau Executive Director, and Jason Smith, MCFB President! 🌾

We’ll enjoy dinner, good conversation, and a chance to connect before closing out another great year of YF&R!

Another great CCYF&R meeting in the books! 🌸🌾

Tonight we got a behind-the-scenes look at Green Valley Floral in Salinas, learning about everything from growing and harvesting to packing and shipping flowers across the country. We even got to U-Pick our own flowers through the trial garden while checking out some of the new varieties! 💐

A huge thank you to John and the Green Valley Floral team for welcoming us and showing us around, and to our CCYF&R BBQ crew for dinner! 🔥

Good people, good conversations, lots of flowers, and a seriously beautiful night. 🌅🌼

Braden attained a B.S. degree in Agriculture Science at CalPoly San Luis Obispo and now works as the Southwest Region Crop Care Advisor for Ecorobotix Inc.; he is a licensed pest control advisor. Braden currently resides in Chualar and enjoys hiking and cooking.
