To a child or youth experiencing the instability of foster care or juvenile justice, a text message or a weekend visit isn't just a check-in, it's proof that someone has their back.

Nine of our active CASAs recently completed a continuing education training focused on navigating healthy boundaries with children and youth, facilitated by the team at MCRCC 🎗️

Advocacy requires continuous learning, especially when it comes to creating safe spaces. Thank you to the Monterey County R**e Crisis Center for lending your expertise and to the CASAs who took the time to sharpen their skills.

On August 11th, six new Court Appointed Special Advocates were officially sworn in. 🧑‍⚖️

They’ve completed their training and committed to showing up for local children and youth in the foster care and juvenile justice systems. Now, six more youth and children in Monterey County have a dedicated adult in their corner advocating for their best interests.

For over 20 years, the Monterey Quilters Guild has handmade quilts for children entering the CASA program. 🪡 When a CASA meets a child or youth for the very first time, they bring one of these quilts with them as a simple, tangible piece of comfort.
