Our Legacy & Afterlife conversation series is back. 🕊️

In the Black community, conversations about death, dying, and what happens after we’re gone can often feel uncomfortable or even taboo. But avoiding these conversations can leave our families without the clarity they need. This month, we’re creating a space to talk openly, ask questions, and think about how we can protect our wishes, our stories, and our legacy. 🙏🏽

Together, we’ll talk about:
🗣️ Breaking the discomfort around conversations about death
📄 Understanding key legacy planning tools in plain language
🏡 Resources to help continue these conversations at home
🌱 Including youth in planning for their own futures

Our ancestors carried the dream. We carry it forward ✊🏿

Today we honor June 19, 1865—the day news of freedom finally reached enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, culture, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. As we gather with family, friends, and community, may we also remember the history behind this day and the generations whose strength and perseverance made it possible.

Honor our ancestors. Celebrate Black resilience. Protect the truth.
