Celebrating National Nonprofit Day 💜

Today, on National Nonprofit Day, we celebrate the power of community, collective action, and people who believe that change is possible.

At Mujeres en Acción, we are proud to create spaces where women can build leadership, strengthen their voices, support one another, and create greater economic opportunities for themselves and their families.

Our work is possible because of the women who show up, the community leaders who step forward, our dedicated team, and the partners, funders, and supporters who believe in this work.

To every woman who has shared her story, raised her voice, learned something new, supported another woman, or taken a step toward a stronger future , this day is also for you. ❤️

Thank you for being part of the Mujeres en Acción community. Together, we continue building a future where women’s leadership is recognized, valued, and powerful.

✨ ¡Nuestros corazones están llenos de gratitud!

Gracias al increíble equipo de Community Foundation —Diana Otero, Itzel Estrada y el talentoso fotógrafo Bryan Patrick—por acompañarnos durante todo un día para capturar la esencia de Mujeres en Acción como parte del Power Accelerator Program.

Gracias por hacer que nuestro personal, líderes comunitarias y participantes se sintieran vistas, valoradas y celebradas.

Y a las increíbles mujeres que compartieron su tiempo, sus historias y sus sonrisas con nosotras: ¡gracias! Gracias a ustedes, más mujeres podrán verse reflejadas en nuestro trabajo y animarse a formar parte de nuestra comunidad.

Cuando las comunidades se organizan, las voces se convierten en acción. 💜

En Mujeres en Acción, creemos que el cambio comienza escuchando a la comunidad. A través del liderazgo de nuestras Organizadoras Comunitarias, trabajamos junto a organizaciones aliadas para crear espacios donde las familias puedan informarse, hacer preguntas, compartir sus experiencias y acceder a los recursos que necesitan.

Nuestra más reciente Academia Cívica en King City reunió a cerca de 200 miembros de la comunidad, incluyendo familias hispanas, angloparlantes, mixtecas y triquis. En colaboración con la Iglesia San Juan Bautista, la Iglesia Metodista de Soledad, CBDIO, Hospital Natividad , COPA y otros aliados comunitarios, compartimos información sobre Esperanza Care, los cambios recientes en Medi-Cal.

El éxito de este evento fue posible gracias al compromiso de nuestras Organizadoras Comunitarias, quienes construyen relaciones de confianza en espacios donde la comunidad puede expresar sus necesidades y encontrar apoyo. Además, contamos con interpretación en español, inglés, mixteco y triqui.

💜 When communities organize, real change happens.

At Mujeres en Acción, our Community Organizers connect families with trusted information, essential resources, and opportunities to improve their well-being.

At our recent Civic Academy in King City, nearly 200 community members came together to learn about Esperanza Care, recent Medi-Cal changes, and available health resources. Through partnerships with local community organizations and interpretation in English, Spanish, Mixteco, and Triqui, more families were able to access the support they need.

🎉 ¡Nos unimos a nuestros amigos de El Pájaro CDC para celebrar a l@s graduad@s de su programa de emprendimiento!

Una de esas graduadas es Asucena (quien aparece en la primera fila, tercera persona de izquierda a derecha), cuya historia nos recuerda el poder de la comunidad, el liderazgo y la perseverancia.

Asucena llegó a Mujeres en Acción con una visión para su negocio y el deseo de seguir creciendo. A través de nuestros grupos de apoyo encontró no solo acompañamiento y conexión con otras mujeres, sino también oportunidades para fortalecer su liderazgo y descubrir todo su potencial. En ese camino, pudo conectarse con recursos valiosos como Pájaro CDC, cuyo programa de emprendimiento le brindó herramientas y orientación para llevar su negocio al siguiente nivel.

¡Felicidades, Asucena, por este importante logro! Nos sentimos orgullosas de haber sido parte de tu camino y esperamos seguir celebrando tus éxitos.

🎉 We're proud to join our friends at Pájaro CDC in celebrating the graduates of their entrepreneurship program!

One of those graduates is Asucena (pictured in the front row, third from the left), whose journey reminds us of the power of community, leadership, and perseverance.

Asucena came to Mujeres en Acción with a vision for her business and a desire to grow. Through our support groups, she found not only encouragement and connection, but also opportunities to develop her leadership skills and discover her full potential. Along the way, she connected with valuable resources like Pájaro CDC, whose entrepreneurship program helped her gain the tools and guidance to take her business to the next level.

During the program, participants strengthened their business knowledge, received personalized guidance, and connected with other entrepreneurs in the community.
