🔥 TRAIN LIKE IT’S REAL — BECAUSE SOMEDAY, IT WILL BE.

Local 1270 put the training to work, containing a single-apartment fire before it had the chance to spread. No injuries were reported, and the fire is out. 👊🏼

We spend countless hours training for the moments when the adrenaline is high, the clock is ticking, and lives, property, and our environment are on the line. That’s the job — and that’s the responsibility we swore to protect.

The flashy stuff is cool, but when the bell hits, it’s the basics that show up. Strong fundamentals, practiced over and over until they become second nature.

You don’t rise to the occasion — you fall back on your training.🚒🔥

After a challenging year of paramedic school, clinicals, field internships, and testing, two of our own have successfully completed every phase of their training and are now serving as Paramedic Firefighters.

As one of the many hats we wear in the fire service, the role of a paramedic is vital to our mission. Providing advanced life support and delivering critical care when seconds matter has a direct impact on the health and safety of our community.

Please join us in congratulating our two newest medics on this incredible accomplishment. We are proud of your hard work and dedication, and we look forward to seeing the difference you’ll make serving the City of Salinas.

Happy Father’s Day!

The Salinas Fire Department had the incredible opportunity to participate in the opening ceremony at Laguna Seca Raceway and train on one of the most iconic tracks in motorsports.

Opportunities like this don’t come around often, and it was an honor to put our skills to the test in such a unique environment. From emergency response training to experiencing the track itself, it was truly a memorable day. And let’s be honest—it’s not every day we get the chance to drift the course!

Your Salinas firefighters have been busy training and responding to a wide variety of incidents throughout our community

Recently, crews rescued an entrapped individual from within a wall near Brewjee and the movie theater. Firefighters successfully extricated the patient, who was transported in stable condition.

Salinas FD and MCRFD responded to an abandoned vehicle fire at Abbott Street and Harris Road. ME3 initiated fire attack operations while ME5512 assisted with a tank transfer and opening the vehicle’s hood for overhaul.

Not every rescue involves people. In another recent call several ducklings fell into a storm drain. Crews quickly removed the grate, rescued the ducklings, and reunited them with their anxious mother waiting nearby.

From technical rescues and fire suppression to helping some of our smallest community members, your Salinas firefighters remain ready to answer the call, no matter the challenge. 🚒🦆

Salinas Fire proudly took part in the 4th Annual Girls Fire Camp, welcoming young women ages 13–21 interested in pursuing a career in the fire service. Participants rotated through eight hands-on stations, gaining real-world experience with equipment and working side-by-side with firefighters. Special thanks to all the agencies that participated. 🚒💪
