North Central Kansas Pride

North Central Kansas Pride The ORIGINAL & BEST! We are a local organization helping the LGBTQIA community. A Safe Space for All! We kicked off our Safe Space Initiative in March.

North Central Kansas Pride is proud to be the leader of the “Safe Space” campaign in the community. This community-wide campaign designed to make sure the LGBTQ+ members of the community are safe. Businesses around the community have a small sticker on their door(s) designating them as a safe space for all. This simple sign shows the members of the LGBTQ+ community that they are welcome and seen.

We are working to make sure the businesses know what and how to handle situations involving our community. Our goal is to make as many places as we can aware and safe for everyone. Commitment to the Community

At the start of 2023, North Central Kansas Pride celebrated 5 years of Pride in Salina. This initiative designates businesses around Salina that are SAFE SPACES for people of the LGBTQ+ community. These businesses have a small sticker on the entrance(s) signaling to the community that members of the LGBTQ+ community are safe from all hate and discrimination. We want each member of the LGBTQ+ community to know they are valued and welcomed. We also strive to work with our community physicians and counselors to make sure our community stays safe. We are proud that our local physicians provide Gender Affirming Care locally to those transitioning over a certain age. In addition, we also work closely with the USD #305 school district to ensure students are treated equitably. We are proud to be a voice for those that are marginalized or questioning. PrideFest
PrideFest is our annual celebration of diversity and inclusion. It is also remembering the riots at Stonewall in 1969. We remember the struggles for acceptance, inclusion, and equality. PrideFest is our chance to celebrate those struggles and to celebrate being ourselves. Instead of the same format, our festival is different in that we bring in different entertainment acts as well as unique vendors. Over the past years, our festival brings people from across the state to Salina. These people often return year after year. Vendors also play an important part of our investment. Each vendor has local ties and is invested in helping NCKP make PrideFest successful every year. The vendors grow from year to year as well. This is exciting because our vendors help keep it local and will invest in local businesses. Finally, we encourage and welcome informational booths. The Saline County Health Department and Positive Directions both provide information about HIV testing and treatment which is important to our community. Investing in us is an investment to the community. We have a variety of levels for investors to ensure our commitment to the community continues to thrive and bring in more opportunities for revenue. Diamond Sponsorship -- $1000+
Gold Sponsorship -- $500
Silver Sponsorship -- $250
Bronze Sponsorship -- $100

Into The Future

As we move forward in the community, we are eager to develop a permanent space as a community center for youth, parents and a local PFLAG chapter. This space will be available for youth to explore the art of drag, performing, and developing their “look” with the help of drag performers including tips on their makeup and performing. This community center will also be a space where parents can meet with other parents and get support from having open conversations about the LGBTQ+ community.

Greetings everyone out in FB land!
Thank you all for your kind words of support over the past year. I needed it to allow my heart to heal and take care of me.
Now then, we will not be holding any events at the moment. Hopefully, the next few months, we can start planning another fall festival/party.
On August 23, my hubby Freddy had another heart attack and has severely hindered him doing much physically. To do our events, we need help putting equipment up and tearing down. If anyone would like to learn and help, we would be very grateful. Please reach out to Kevin Lynn . Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Happy Pride month everyone! While North Central Kansas Pride is taking a year off, we want everyone to know that you matter and are valued.
North Central Kansas Pride has NEVER blocked or excluded anyone from our page or attending our celebrations unlike other LGBTQIA+ organizations. We also have never celebrated with grandiose claims about coming out or preached politics. NCKP has and will continue to remain neutral in politics and religion as those tend to divide.
That said, it is our understanding that Smoky Hill Equality Coalition is holding a pride celebration today. We wish them all the support that they have given us.

Again, Happy Pride Month!

Howdy everyone out in Facebook Land. Hope you're doing well out there! Things are moving along for NCKP. We are STILL here and not going anywhere anytime soon. That said, we will be taking a break this year from doing a pride celebration. We need some time for ourselves and rejuvenation. We MAY have something small this fall, but nothing to the caliber of previous years. We thank you for your support and love! If we do something, we'll be announcing it here! Much love!

Wishing everyone a happy new year. As we go forward let's make sure 2024 is the best year ever.
