Wow, what a year 2026 has been! As Rotary continues to grow here in Salina we want to invite all to become members.

The newest Salina Rotarian is Kathleen Depperschmidt. What a pleasure it is to welcome her to our group and have her continue her good works with other like minded Rotarians.

You too can help bring good to our area and the world by becoming a fellow Rotarian. Not to mention we do have fun gatherings as well.

To come see what Rotary is all about, send us a message here or reach out to Brenda Gutierrez.

Welcome Kathleen, it’s great to have you as part of the Rotary Club of Salina!!

Having the opportunity to hear ALL the amazing things happening in the world of Alzheimer’s was what our Monday’s presentation had in store for our Rotarians. We want to thank Amanda Randolph for coming and speaking for the Alzheimer’s Association. Working as a national advocate for Kansans she continues the fight to get new breakthroughs in Alzheimer’s in front of the medical staff that need it to support Kansans. For that, we thank you Amanda!

I also want to mention that the walk to end Alzheimer’s is coming up October 11th! To find out more go to act.alz.org

Good food, great fellowship, and even better company! 💙💛
The Rotary Club of Salina hosted our annual Family Picnic at Jerry Ivey Park last evening, and it was a wonderful reminder of what Rotary is all about—connection, friendship, family, and service.
Thank you to all of our Rotarians, families, and guests who joined us! We loved spending time together outside of our regular meetings, sharing some laughs and simply enjoying one another’s company.
Rotary brings people from all walks of life together with one common purpose: to make a difference—right here in Salina and around the world. 🌎
💡 Looking for a place to connect, serve, and belong? There may just be a seat at the Rotary table for you! Come visit the Rotary Club of Salina and see what being a Person of Action is all about.

When we work in our community, it’s the future of this community and the communities around the world that drive us! Being able to do our part in continuing the education of students at Salina Area Technical College is truly our honor to be able to play a small role in. We look forward to seeing the continued great works that will be the future of Salina coming from this wonderful local institution!!

Salina Tech was honored to receive a $1,000 gift from The Rotary Club of Salina to support student scholarships. This generous donation will help students pursue their education and prepare for their future careers. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Salina for investing in Salina Tech students and supporting their goals and futures!

Had a great time hearing about all the upcoming things for the Eisenhower Education Center yesterday at our weekly Rotary meeting. With a grand opening coming in 2027 and the funding of 17 million almost complete, there is much work ahead and a great team working together to make it happen.

We want to thank Tyler Habiger the Eisenhower center Educational Director and fellow Rotarian for his presentation Monday. He brought us a great deal of information filled with humor and facts that kept us all attentive until the last word. What a wonderful presentation, we can’t thank you enough Tyler.

Check out the great photos attached for parts of his presentation and if you would like to be part of this amazing group of people and hear/be a part of great works in this community, come by and join us. Just reach out here or visit us online at salinarotary.org

This week we had the pleasure of hearing about some of the less notable but interesting facts of President Eisenhower from Mack Teasley former Executive Director of the Eisenhower Center.

He brought us snippets of general amusement from Ike’s life, as well as discussing his continued legacy with Rotary. Mack even went so far as to debunk hot topic items about the former President!

It was a very engaging discussion and the presentation left all of our Rotarians wanting for more!

Thank you Mack Teasley for the wonderful talk and all of your humor you brought with you. You can get Mack’s book, “The Real Ike, Eisenhower Fact or Fiction” in stores now.

And if YOU want to learn more about how to get involved with Rotary, reach out to us here The Rotary Club of Salina or on the web at Salinarotary.org

What happens when you put TWO Brendas behind a Rotary table? 💙💛 Double the energy, double the passion, and double the Service Above Self! 🙌
Brenda Gutierrez + Brenda Stoss — affectionately known as “The Brendas” — represented the Rotary Club of Salina at the Not-For-Profit Parade & Showcase for Leadership Salina 2026!
They shared how Rotary is making a difference right here in Salina and invited the Leadership Salina class to join us for a meeting, experience Rotary firsthand, and discover what it means to be a Person of Action.
Rotary is about relationships, service, and people coming together to make our community—and our world—a little better. 🌎❤️
Thank you, Brendas, for sharing the Rotary spirit and showing others that Service Above Self can start right here at home!
💙💛 Ready to be a Person of Action? Come check out Rotary. We’d love to have you!

We had the privilege of recognizing one of our own, Dr. Gary Norris. Gary has reached not one, but two significant Rotary Foundation milestones: Paul Harris Fellow +2 and Paul Harris Fellow +4.
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition honors individuals whose giving to The Rotary Foundation helps fund projects that bring clean water, promote peace, fight disease, support education, protect the environment, and strengthen communities around the world. Each additional recognition level is represented by blue sapphires on the Paul Harris pin, symbolizing continued generosity and commitment to Rotary's mission.
Gary, thank you for your faithful support of The Rotary Foundation and for living out Service Above Self. Your generosity is creating lasting impact both here at home and around the world. Congratulations on these well-deserved recognitions!

Have you ever met a one-armed golfer? ⛳️

Well, now you have. Meet Ashytn Hooper, daughter of Jason and Chris Hooper.

Ashytn is an incredible young athlete who truly lives the words "Never Quit." Her dad designed and built the attachment that connects her golf club to her arm, and let me tell you... she has a beautiful swing!

Ashytn joined us at Rotary this week and completely stole the show. Her determination, confidence, and joyful spirit reminded all of us that our greatest strength isn't what we have—it's what we choose to do with it.

This weekend, August 6-8, First Tee Salina is hosting the NAOAGA Jr. "Never Quit" Junior Adaptive Golf Clinic & Tournament. The clinic gives young adaptive golfers the opportunity to learn, compete, build confidence, and create lifelong friendships through the game of golf.

Then on Saturday, August 8, you can support this incredible mission by participating in the 4-Person Never Quit Scramble at Salina Municipal Golf Course.

Want to make an even bigger impact? Sponsorship opportunities are still available—from Supporter Sponsorships to Hole Sponsorships and larger event sponsorships. Every dollar helps provide life-changing opportunities for these amazing young athletes.

If you've been looking for a way to support something truly inspiring, this is it. 💚

Because "Never Quit" isn't just the name of the tournament—it's the spirit of every child you'll meet. ⛳💪
