We need some help finding one of our guys a vehicle!

This man has been putting in the work. He’s been showing up, doing what he’s supposed to do, working hard, and saving his money all year.

Now he’s ready for the next step.

He has up to $4,000 cash to spend on a dependable vehicle. Nothing fancy, just something reliable, with no issues that will get him to work and keep him moving forward.

Tonight at church, our Assistant Director, Robert Encinas, stood up and shared his testimony. Where God brought him from, what He has done in his life, and where he believes God is taking him next.

Robert shared openly about childhood trauma and the way those wounds shaped his life from an early age. He talked about the roads that pain eventually led him down, but more importantly, he shared about the God who met him there and began putting the broken pieces back together.

This November, Robert will celebrate FOUR YEARS CLEAN.

Today, the same man who once needed someone to believe there was still hope for him now spends his life pouring that same hope into other men. He serves as our Assistant Director, walks alongside men in some of the hardest seasons of their lives, and is living proof that your past does not get the final word!!

God does.

We are proud of you, Robert Encinas . Proud of the man you’ve become, proud of the way you serve, and excited to see where God takes you from here.

From brokenness to purpose. From addiction to freedom. From being helped to helping others.

That’s what redemption looks like.

The Kingdom gained 3 more warriors tonight!

This evening, we headed down to the lake and had the privilege of baptizing three of our residents to take the next step in their walk with Christ.

Three men making a public declaration that the old life is gone and they belong to Jesus.

But we didn’t just baptize them and head home. We fired up the grill, cooked some hotdogs, played volleyball, laughed, cut up, and just enjoyed being together.

Because recovery isn’t supposed to be miserable.

There is LIFE on the other side of addiction. There is brotherhood. There is laughter. There is purpose. There are nights at the lake surrounded by people who genuinely want to see you win.

Tonight was a good reminder of what this is all about.

New life. New purpose. New brothers.

And three more warriors for the Kingdom.

One thing working in addiction recovery will teach you real quick: it’s easy to love people when they’re doing good.

It’s harder when they lie.
When they relapse.
When they disappoint you.
When they make the same mistake you swore they finally learned from.
When they’re angry, selfish, stubborn, or just straight difficult to deal with.

But then I have to remember something...

God has loved me through every bit of my crap too.

He didn’t wait until I had everything cleaned up before He loved me. He loved me while I was still broken, still selfish, still making mistakes, and still needing grace. AND I STILL DO.

That doesn’t mean we ignore sin. It doesn’t mean there aren’t consequences, boundaries, accountability, or hard conversations. We have plenty of those in recovery.

It just means we don’t stop loving somebody because they’re still struggling.

Sometimes the people who are hardest to love are the ones who need to see the love of Christ the most.

Recovery has taught me that you can hold somebody accountable and still love them.
You can tell them the truth and still love them.
You can be disappointed in their choices and still refuse to give up on who God says they can become.

Because if God only loved us on our good days, every one of us would be in trouble.

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

Love people through their crap.

Last night, looking around at all these men laying hands on our graduates and praying over them, I had a thought:

We don’t always realize how many warriors God brings to fight with us.

Men who used to be broken, hopeless, angry, lost, or barely hanging on… and somewhere along the way, God started rebuilding them.

Then one day you look up and see a room full of men praying over the next ones stepping forward.

That’s what this is about.

God is raising up warriors right in front of us.

Today is a BIG day for four of our guys!

Two current Reckless residents and two program graduates are wrapping up a 7-week CDL training course through Northeast Tech. Today is their final day of class, and this weekend they’ll be putting everything they’ve learned to the test as they take their driving exams!

One of the opportunities we’re incredibly grateful to offer our guys is access to FREE career training through Northeast Tech. Opportunities like this can completely change the trajectory of a man’s life.

Because recovery is about so much more than just getting sober.

It’s about finding purpose.
It’s about building a career.
It’s about becoming someone your family can depend on.
It’s about looking toward the future and realizing you actually have something worth fighting for.

These four men aren’t just working toward a CDL.

They’re building a life.

We’re proud of every one of them and everything they’ve put into these last seven weeks. Now go finish what you started, fellas!

Say a prayer for them as they take their driving tests this weekend!

Freedom. Purpose. A future.
That’s what recovery can look like.

If you’re going to bed tonight sober congratulations.

Seriously. That victory deserves to be celebrated. Whether it’s been one day, one month, one year, or ten years... you made it through another day. Don’t ever forget how big that is.

But if you’re not going to bed tonight because you’re spun out…

If you’re about to pass out because you’re drunk…

If you’re sitting somewhere wondering how the heck your life got to this point…

Or if you’re just tired, man, tired of chasing it, tired of lying, tired of hurting the people you love, tired of waking up and doing it all over again tomorrow…

There is help.
There is hope.
And there is freedom.

Your life does not have to stay this way!

We’ve seen men walk through our doors completely broken, convinced they had ruined everything and watched God rebuild their lives from the ground up.

But you have to want something different.

If tonight is the night you’re finally ready to stop fighting this battle by yourself, REACH OUT.

Tomorrow can look different.

Freedom is real. And it’s worth fighting for.

We’re on the road right now to pick up a man who is finally done battling on his own.

He may not realize it yet, but today is the day his life changes.

Today he gets in a vehicle with people who believe his life is worth fighting for.

Today he leaves behind doing it alone.

Today he walks through the doors of Reckless and into a brotherhood that will stand beside him, challenge him, pray with him, and remind him that there is still hope.

We don’t know what the next 12 months will hold. We know there will be hard days. But we also know what God can do with a man who finally gets tired of running and decides to surrender.

We’ve made this drive before.

And we’ve watched broken men become husbands again. Fathers again. Sons again. Leaders. Men of God.

Today, another man gets his chance.

This is why we do what we do.

Pray for him as we bring him home.

Freedom starts today!
