April is Child Abuse Prevention Month!

Every year around 130 children visit our Chris's Place-Child Advocacy Center. These are children who have been abused or have witnessed a violent crime.

This April we are raising funds to help Chris's Place as well as CAPS to provide advocacy and prevention in child abuse. We are partnering with Salina Police Department, Saline County Sheriff's Office - Kansas, and the Salina Fire Department to give THREE children in our community a ride to SCHOOL! 🚒🚔

🚨Here’s how HERO RIDE works🚨:
•Scan the QR code or click the link down below and purchase a raffle ticket to one of the rides options (OR ALL THREE) to enter in a chance to WIN A RIDE!
•Winners will be chosen MAY 1st and rides will be scheduled between May 4th through May 15th.

Rules? Only that your child is over the age of 8 years old and they meet seat belt requirements of 80 lbs or 4’9” (Per Kansas child passenger safety laws). Drop off school must be within Salina city limits.

Don’t miss this opportunity to ride in style as the school year comes to an end!!💙🤍

Our community is grieving the recent tragic deaths of multiple children. These tragedies are heartbreaking, and we hold these children and all who loved them in our thoughts.

Moments like this remind us how important it is to speak openly and compassionately about support. Parenting, and loss, can be overwhelming. Stress, exhaustion, isolation, and fear can build quietly, and sometimes people need help long before a crisis occurs.

CAPS of Salina wants you to know: you are not alone, and help is available.

CAPS offers programs and resources focused on prevention, education, and family support, as well as Grief Recovery and Helping Children with Loss. CAPS is ready to listen and help without judgment, and at no cost. All services we provide are free, and require no qualifications based on income or other demographics.

If you or someone you know needs support, we encourage you to contact CAPS of Salina or another trusted local resource.
