The SEF is thrilled to be part of this wonderful opportunity for our students! An Outside-the-Box grant helps fund transportation for this field trip. Hats off to all the local arts organizations who make this happen, and to donors like YOU! Thank you to all!

had a great time rockin’ with the 6th graders from Salina South Middle School as part of the 10th annual Salina Cultural Crawl! me and my guy Sir Charles represented Salina Arts & Humanities at our crawl stop, and gave the kids a lil’ dose of hip-hop history and how it correlates with ELA (English Language Arts).

as always to Salina Area Educators, and big ups to Principal Dooley, the teachers, USD 305 and Salina Education Foundation.

📚✨ Exciting News for Our Young Readers! ✨📚

We are excited to announce that our Kindergarten–2nd grade students will have the opportunity to meet author and illustrator Alex Willan in person this March!

Best known for his hilarious The Worst! series featuring Gilbert the Goblin, Mr. Willan will be visiting all eight USD 305 elementary schools over two days!

This wonderful opportunity was made possible through a generous donation from a retired teacher to the Salina Education Foundation and a grant from the Earl Bane Foundation. We are incredibly grateful for their support in bringing this experience to our students!

We are especially excited to give our youngest readers the opportunity to meet an author and illustrator face-to-face! What a wonderful way to celebrate books, creativity, and the joy of reading! 📚💙

A Sudden Opportunity Grant has helped provide board games for students at Stewart. The board games will give students opportunities to think, interact, and engage with one another. Assistant Principal Erin McCorkle states that the goal is “To give students opportunities to learn and practice academic and social skills in an engaging way while also providing a healthy break from screens. When children play, they learn—and board games make that learning fun!”
