K9’s Mack and Marshal deployed out late last night followed by 4 more members early this morning with the UTV to continue ground search operations. Luckily she was found safe. Headed home to get ready for the next call.

It was a busy week for a couple pups. Puppy in training Kyra was in Wichita building skills and confidence with the American Mantrailing, Police & Work Dog Association.

K9 Marshal spent the week in Ottawa for training and certification with the Kansas Police Dog Association. Searching for people is cool but he gives two paws down to tornadoes. He also met K9 Boone from Butler County SO. It was great to collaborate with another Bloodhound team working here in the state. As an added benefit we will be hosting the Spring Conference here this time next year!

We thank Sheriff Soldan for supporting our K9 addiction!

Most of the K9 team joined multiple agencies in Dickinson County to demo and assist with a morning full of activities for the Abilene High School CERT team.

This was the last picture taken at training today before our Vice Commander was dumped by his spirited paint horse who then headed back to base solo…. Walk of shame ✅ The K9 was not bothered and successfully located the “missing” person. 😂

We spent a good amount of time working dogs this weekend. Today all the dogs got a familiarization ride in our new to us UTV that we purchased with the help of Williams Energy.

Ray was kind enough to simulate an overdue hunter. Marshal was started from the truck, successfully took us to the unoccupied UTV and then into the woods to find his person!

Puppy Kyra got a few short runs in with some new people and lots of obstacles. She is a pure energy and we are working as a team to direct that into playing this hide and seek game.

Leroy did his thing, slow and methodical working through a difficult problem and changing winds as the storm approached.
