Our Night with the NFR will be an evening of fun, fellowship and fundraising efforts to End Hunger across the state. We’ll bring the excitement of the National Finals Rodeo right here to Kansas; you just bring your western wear! The Saline County Farm Bureau Association hosted the 2026 Kid’s Ag Awareness Day on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the Saline County Expo Center. Fifth grade students from Sunset Elementary, St. Mary’s Elementary, Southeast of Saline, Ell-Saline and home schools rotated through several stations focused on agriculture topics. Thank you to everyone who provided a station, and the Salina, Ell-Saline and Southeast of Saline FFA members for providing leadership during the event. Also, thank you to Hildebrand Dairy for donating milk for lunch, and the Lindsay Garber Agency of Farm Bureau Financial Services for donating bottled water.

Kansas Farm Bureau (KFB) and Kansas Geological Survey (KGS) are offering a FREE water sample test.

Sign up by Oct. 15 so your testing materials can be delivered to you. You'll collect your water sample with bottles provided by KGS. Bring the bottles to KFB's Annual Meeting on Sunday, Dec. 6, where KGS will be on hand to collect them. Once they've had time to run the tests, you'll receive your results via email.

The Saline County Farm Bureau is alternating years with the North Salina Community Development group to provide the service - and this year it is in north Salina from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 in the parking lot north of the Dairy Queen on north Ninth Street.
