NAIFA of the Heartland was proud to recognize our 2026 scholarship award recipients yesterday at Martinelli’s Little Italy in Salina.

Congratulations to Lainey Peschka, recipient of the 2026 NAIFA of the Heartland $2,000 Scholarship for Local High School Seniors.

Lainey plans to attend Kansas State University and pursue studies in Accounting with interest in Finance and becoming a Certified Public Accountant. Her application reflected strong work ethic, clear goals, and a desire to make a meaningful difference through her future career.

We were also pleased to recognize Southeast of Saline with the $500 school award for submitting the highest number of completed scholarship entries. Thank you to school counselor Megan Haden for representing Southeast of Saline and for helping encourage student participation in this opportunity.

Congratulations again to Lainey Peschka, her family, and Southeast of Saline.

NAIFA of the Heartland is honored to support local students as they take the next step in their education and future careers.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at Martinelli’s Little Italy in Salina for our NAIFA of the Heartland CE event and lunch.

We also want to give a special thank you to our speakers, Aaron Mendoza, who led our session on Reverse Mortgages, and Joseph Kuhn, who led our session on Social Security Disability Income. These amazing speakers gave our members and guests information and were counted towards Continuing Education credits.

That is what NAIFA Heartland is here for. We provide our members with continued education, expert guidance, local relationships, legislative representation, and time spent with people who understand the work.

For newer agents and advisors, the early years can feel overwhelming. Client questions come quickly. Product details matter. Compliance matters. Confidence takes time.

For experienced professionals, the value is different but just as important. NAIFA Heartland gives you a place to stay sharp, stay connected, and continue serving clients with professionalism.

If you are an area financial advisor or insurance professional and are not yet connected with NAIFA Heartland, we would be glad to welcome you at an upcoming event.

NAIFA Heartland was honored to sponsor last Tuesday’s meet-and-greet with Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt.

The afternoon gave attendees the chance to connect with Vicki, ask questions, and learn more about the priorities and passions shaping her campaign for Governor.

At NAIFA Heartland, we believe strong local connections matter. Bringing insurance and financial professionals into the room with influential voices and real conversations is part of what makes our chapter such a valuable resource for this region.

Thank you to all who attended and helped make it a meaningful event.

NAIFA Heartland was proud to host another valuable continuing education event that brought insurance agents and financial advisors face-to-face with leaders from the Kansas Department of Insurance. Commissioner Vicki Schmidt, Director of Government Affairs Eric Turek, and Director of Producer Licensing Monicka Richmeier shared timely insight on Legislative Updates, Insurance Fraud Detection, and Producer Licensing Do’s and Don’ts.

That is what makes NAIFA Heartland such an important organization for our profession. We are not simply a place to network. We are where professionals come to build meaningful relationships, stay informed on the issues shaping our industry, and gain direct access to the people and information that matter most. As an official NAIFA local chapter in Kansas, NAIFA Heartland continues to stand out as a leading source for industry connection, education, and professional growth.

Thank you again to our outstanding speakers and to everyone who attended. Events like this reinforce why NAIFA Heartland remains the place for insurance agents and financial advisors who want to stay current, stay connected, and stay ahead.
