Are you cooked yet? The heat just never stops! We have had to remove our can cages at Ace Hardware parking lot as the lot is being re-surfaced. I want to thank that helped move the awkward cages. At this time, we believe we will not be able to move them back there and are now looking for a good place to locate them. This is a great money maker and we want to be careful where we place them for the most traffic. One cage got away from us and caused Fred Fanning to crack a rib. He is doing just fine.
Bob Justice, (our adjutant) is not doing very well with his health. He has requested that he be removed from office. Fred Fanning has graciously accepted the position and the transition will begin soon.
I want to thank Ron Marsh for being my walking buddy on the 12th for walking with me 12.9 miles from McPherson to Lindsborg in 3 hours and 45 minutes. Neither one of us was winded. This was in reference to a fund raiser for The Battle Within. www.thebattlewithin.org. This organization is here in Kansas. They provide mental/behavioral resources and healing retreats for veterans, first responders, and Frontline medical workers. The founder is a combat veteran who was badly injured in Iraq. He went through some dark days and lost a lot of things before he found his way back to healing. He decided to found this organization to help others. The representatives that were there from the organization on Saturday were from Mcpherson and Hutchinson. We know that this organization is serving our community all over the state. Approximately $5,700 was earned.
In closing, I want to thank all that show up to the meeting. You all think that there is a reason for what we do, and I want to thank you!

Hello, just a reminder that the AL Post 62 monthly meeting will be held tomorrow at the VFW/AL building. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM. I hope to see some of you there.
