Our next class coming up is Beginner Crochet with Amanda Little from on Tuesday, June 9, 6:00-7:30. This round of the class is for students 15 years and older, but a younger version of the class is happening in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 23, for students 8-14 years old.

This class will teach beginning learners basic crochet stitches by creating a twist-style headwrap/ear warmer. Students will be provided with crochet hooks and yarn (limited color choices) to work with.

Check out all of the fiber events we have coming up this June!

On June 9, Amanda Little from will be teaching Beginner Crochet for students 15 years and up.

On June 10, we have our first monthly Community Craft Club meetup for all fiber art enthusiasts.

On June 17, Dani Zerr from is teaching an intermediate Crochet Beyond the Basics class.

On June 23, Amanda Little will host the same Beginner Crochet class for students 8-14 years.

On June 27, Meagan and Steve Condon from and are hosting an all day Hobby Jamboree with many different fiber and rpg miniature painting classes.

This Saturday, May 30, we have Vaughn Evans from .marbles teaching a borosilicate glass beadmaking workshop. In this class, Vaughn will demonstrate process and technique for making glass beads using an oxy-propane torch, before students will take turns with assistance and direction from Vaughn. Students will learn from each other’s attempts with Vaughn demonstrating throughout the day.

Vaughn Evans has been making glass art beads since 1999. His specialty is cremation memorial glass, but he has been teaching lampwork beadmaking for 25 years. Vaughn has demonstrated at the Smoky Hill River Festival for 3 years, and you can find him there again this year. If you’ve ever seen Vaughn’s work, or have an interest in lampwork, this is your chance to learn from an incredibly talented artists with decades of teaching and making experience.

We have 2 handbuilt clay classes starting next week, both lead by Melissa Brodbeck.

Elevate the look of your garden by joining our Handbuilt Clay Garden Stakes class. Over 3 class sessions, Melissa will lead students through the design and building process and techniques for glazing pieces for long lasting beauty through the seasons. This class starts Tuesday, May 26, with the other two sessions on May 28 and June 4.

Next, help your budding ceramicist get their start by joining our Handbuilt Clay Trinket Dish class. Over 2 sessions, students 8-12 years old will build and glaze a dish fit to hold food, jewelry, coins, or anything else that needs a special place. This class will meet 10:00am-11:00am on May 28 and June 4.

Melissa Brodbeck is a retired engineer who spends her time creating beautiful handbuilt clay sculptures and functional objects. She also teaches art and STEAM classes to homeschool groups.
