Welcome artist Brinkley Messick Art to 🎨33rd annual SALIDA ARTWALK.

Brinkley Messick lives in a house in Salida Colorado, yet anywhere outside is where he feels most at home. Work-life and play in the outdoors all intermingle for Brinkley. He takes great joy in introducing his children to the vast array of activities available to them in Colorado.

Rarely does he venture out without at least a sketchbook and often with brushes and paint. Always done by hand, never computer, Brinkley captures light and landscapes on salvaged wood and other materials.

Originally from North Carolina Brink chased his love for adventure and need of open space to Colorado over two decades ago and now works out of a 1964 Airstream art studio in Salida. His art and subject matter are greatly influenced by his other career in Trails and Stewardship where he has contributed to the trail systems in Salida, Buena Vista, Del Norte and other areas across the state.

Welcome Patti Vincent Studio & Gallery to 🎨33rd annual SALIDA ARTWALK.

One of the newest art galleries in Salida. Described as a “great space to enjoy beautiful art” and “her nuanced colors are vivid, yet calming.” Patti Vincent Studio & Gallery is a solo artist gallery filled with paintings, reduction prints, collectible books, cards, and a spacious classroom for group and private art classes. The twelve foot wide wall easel is a must see.

Painting began as a means of surrounding myself with oil paintings. Adult education classes and workshops were eye openers, but I was missing the fundamentals. True joy came after being afforded the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2012. Never had I worked so hard or enjoyed learning so much. It was so unlike earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing right out of high school. Drawing from life became a foundation and daily passion. Family, friends, household pets, and complete strangers were all in danger of becoming figure drawing subjects. Oil painting and relief printmaking became studio practices. Colorado’s wonderful landscape and my cats inspire me. Earning a BFA sparked a seemingly endless quest to see great art and motivation to create art daily. A sketchbook and painting gear travel along. My studio practice includes oil, gouache, relief printmaking, drawing, and teaching. My current workshops focus on the practice of daily painting with gouache. I’ve painted hundreds of very small, 2 x 2” paintings, as a means of practice. For me the small size is an attainable daily goal in my art journey.
