She used to sit in the back.
Not because there wasn't room up front. Because speaking meant being seen, and being seen felt like a risk she wasn't ready to take.
RN joined a community health program in Southeast Asia in 2016. She was quiet. Uncertain. She didn't know how to plan, how to network, or how to stand in front of a room and say something worth hearing.
The program ended in 2021.
Five years later, a survey team knocked on her door.
She is now a contracted government health educator, working at the sub-district level on maternal and child health. She coordinates across sectors. She leads teams. She shows up.
When they asked her about the program, she didn't reach for a polished answer.
"Sometimes I miss gathering together," she said. "I'm grateful to have joined because through the past program, I learned to speak in public and became who I am today."
She learned to speak in public.
And became who she is today.
