“Forward Two, Through Life!”

At Veterans On The River, we believe transition starts from the inside out.

Our program helps Veterans better understand themselves through DISC Behavioral Styles, Emotional Intelligence, and Ikigai before building a career and life strategy centered around who they truly are.

Led by Jason Dickinson, with assessments provided by Competitive Edge, Veterans learn how they communicate, lead, handle stress, and work with others. The DISC and Emotional Intelligence assessments give them practical insight they can use in both their personal lives and professional careers.

Using the Arkansas River as a teaching tool, we learn a lot from the flow of the river itself — how to adapt, stay grounded, and keep moving forward through every season of life.

We’re not just helping Veterans prepare for a career transition. We’re helping them build confidence, find purpose, and create direction for the next chapter of their lives.

This Memorial Day, we honor and celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us but will never be forgotten. Remembering the sacrifices they made and the impact they left on all of us. 🇺🇸❤️

As graduation is coming up today we wanted to give a huge thank you to our amazing guides — Grant, Jade, John, and Joe — for everything you did for us on this trip. We came in eager to learn, and thanks to your patience, knowledge, and encouragement, we’re leaving with skills and memories that will stay with us forever. Veterans on the River wouldn’t be the same without y’all! 🎣🇺🇸

After two intense weeks of whitewater, teamwork, and leadership development, these veterans are ready to show how far they’ve come. Come cheer them on, celebrate their journey, and support an incredible community of resilience and growth.

A huge thank you to the Legion for welcoming us into your space these past two weeks. We are beyond grateful for your kindness, hospitality, and support. Last night was especially special — we had such an amazing time joining the meeting, sharing a potluck, and connecting with everyone. Thank you for making us feel so welcomed and part of the community❤️
