FIBArk is the nation's oldest and boldest whitewater festival and Salida's signature event. Since 1949, every June during the Spring snow runoff, Salida has hosted FIBArk, "First in Boating on the Arkansas." Located in Salida's historic downtown, Riverside Park is the center of FIBArk activity and entertainment. Food, arts and crafts, and industry vendors are available, as well as a beer tent, a c

arnival, and a state-of-the art amphitheater for this year's extraordinary musical line-up. FIBArk is presented each year as a non-profit, community event made possible only by the generosity of hundreds of volunteers and sponsors. Volunteers are needed for all aspects of the festival, including festival set-up and take-down, beer sales, event registration, information tent, and education at our recycling stations.

Want to play a huge part in America’s oldest whitewater festival?

We’re looking for a hardworking Event Crew Lead to supervise and manage a team of 8-10 crew members.

FIBArk is America’s oldest whitewater festival, bringing together river sports, live music, and community celebration in the heart of Salida, Colorado. The Event Crew Lead is essential in delivering a safe, seamless, and high-energy experience for participants and attendees alike.

✔️ $2,500 Contract
✔️ June 15–21
✔️ Crew gear + food vouchers provided
✔️ Outdoor, hands-on work (lifting, moving, building!)
✔️ 21+ | Background check required

Previous experience in event production, logistics, or crew leadership preferred.

You got a sneak peak of the art with the volunteer shirt, now check out the real deal and get to know our 2026 Featured Artist: Michael Buckley!

Michael Buckley (born January 23, 1973) is an American artist, best known for his large-scale public art installations. His work draws upon ideas of time and the temporary nature of existence. Hanging Boulder, with its 20-foot-tall steel tripod, allowed the viewer to spin an 8-ton hanging boulder without mechanical assistance. Inspired by the Land Art movement of the 1960s, his work is often a response to the environment where it is sited.
