The Monarch Crest Trail is known as one of the top ten mountain bike rides in America. The ride starts on top of Monarch Pass at a lofty 11,312 feet and quickly climbs to the Continental Divide. The singletrack follows the Divide for 10 miles above treeline through rock gardens and fields of wildflowers, climbs steep hills and drops back into thick pine forests with golden aspens in the fall

pure singletrack and so fun. On clear days, you can see all the way from Pikes Peak to the San Juan Mountains – the entire width of the Colorado Rockies. After riding the Monarch Crest Trail, you have a choice of either riding down the challenging Silver Creek singletrack or choosing an easier route down the smooth dirt road of Marshall Pass. Silver Creek is a fantastic, fun and rough skinny trail with some rocky challenges. Marshall Pass is non-technical, an old Otto Mears railroad route that lets a mountain biker look up and enjoy the amazing Colorado Rocky Mountain scenery all around.

Today’s the big day, and we owe a special thanks to all our volunteers for making this happen!!!!
Come on out for the post-ride party from 11-4 – all are welcome to help us celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Crest Crank in Riverside Park. Featuring food from Sweeties and Moonlight Pizza, beverages including beer from Soulcraft, and music by The Rusty Lungs!

Join us on Sunday, Sept. 17 for the Crest Crank post-ride party – it’s open to the public and it’s going to be a blast! This year we’re co-hosting with Salida Mountain Trails and their Banana Belt mountain bike racers. We have Heart of the Rockies Radio broadcasting live from 11-1, The Rusty Lungs Band playing live tunes starting at 1, and beer from to quench your thirst. What a way to end the weekend!
