We had such a wonderful afternoon at the museum today!

We want to extend a huge thank you to State Senator Deb Patterson for taking the time to visit us! She sat down with our Executive Director, Alicia, to tour our campus and dive deep into how Gilbert House impacts our local community.

It means the world to have our state leaders step into our historic houses, see our educational spaces in action, and support our mission of inspiring children through hands-on play and discovery.

There is nothing quite like watching a child's imagination take over! Whether they are scanning the horizon for hidden treasure, scaling the highest peaks, or pretending to be the captain of their own story, our outdoor spaces are made for epic make-believe.

We love that every single corner of the museum campus can transform into a whole new world depending on who is exploring it.

If you are looking for the perfect weekend activity, come join us out in the sunshine! Our outdoor spaces are perfect for digging, discovering, and making sweet memories together.

Plus, we have some exciting news to make your weekend planning even easier! Starting this month, both the museum and the Playgrounds Café are open 7 days a week! The café is open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, so you can easily grab your morning coffee or an afternoon snack while the kiddos explore. ☕🥪

Future scientists hard at work! 🔬

There is nothing quite like watching the gears turn in a child’s mind when they get to experience hands-on science! From studying the human skeletal system to building molecular models, our Science Lab is the ultimate space for curious minds to experiment, ask questions, and discover how the world works. 🧠

We love seeing our youngest visitors put on their scientist hats (and safety goggles!) to dive deep into real-world concepts. It turns out that anatomy and chemistry are a whole lot of fun when you get to learn through play!

If you have a little one who loves to ask "why" and "how," make sure to check out the Science Lab during your next visit!

At Gilbert House, we truly believe that every single child deserves a summer packed with discovery, laughter, and camp magic. That is why we are officially launching our brand-new Camp Access Scholarship program! 🎒✨

This summer, we are offering 15 scholarship spots across three of our absolute most popular camp weeks—for just $150.
This program follows the exact same qualifications as our Access Membership, which helps families with financial need access everything the museum has to offer. 🏠❤️

Here are the details you need to know:
🔹 15 spots total: We have 5 scholarship spots available per featured week.
🔹 The Fine Print: Scholarship spots are limited to one camp week per child. If you have multiple kiddos, just submit a separate application for each one!

Who is ready for a little mid-day or afternoon fun? Our Make & Take is happening today, and we would love for your creative kiddos to join us!

Bring your little ones by to hear a super fun story, and then watch them put their big imaginations to work with a hands-on activity they get to design, build, and take home. It is the perfect blend of cozy storytime and creative maker magic. 🏠❤️
