Plummer Youth Promise

Plummer Youth Promise Our vision is every young person has a family unconditionally
committed to nurture, protect, and guide them to
successful adulthood.

Young people who leave the foster care or juvenile justice system without safe, stable & permanent family connections face grim outcomes, including high rates of homelessness, unemployment, early parenting and lack of education. Plummerโ€™s mission is to set a standard of excellence that improves outcomes for young people in or at risk of entering state care by deeply engaging youth, families, and t

he systems that impact them to develop permanent family relationships, skills, and community connections.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ Happy Pride Month from Plummer Youth Promise!

This month and throughout the year we stand with the young people in our care and the diverse families who open their hearts and homes to them.

Youth in foster care deserve to be loved for exactly who they are, regardless of who they love or how they identify. Family for everyone means everyone. Period.

To our LGBTQ+ youth, families, staff, and community: we see you and love you for who you are. ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

As National Foster Care Month comes to a close, we're reflecting on what a meaningful May it's been.

Earlier this month, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of our newly reopened Caroline Plummer House, surrounded by the team that shows up every single day for young people in foster care.

Unveiled during a month dedicated to the young people at the heart of our mission, this space represents something bigger than a renovation. It's a renewed commitment to every child who deserves a family to call their own.

Thank you to everyone who made this moment possible. Here's to what comes next. ๐Ÿ’™

"Every day in the system is a day of childhood lost."๐Ÿ’”

Every single day matters for a child waiting for a permanent family. At Plummer Youth Promise, we are driven by the belief that every young person in foster care deserves a permanent, loving family as soon as possible.

As National Foster Care Awareness Month comes closer to the end, we hope you'll carry this awareness with you and help us connect young people in foster care with the families they deserve. Your support helps ensure fewer childhoods are lost to waiting.

"I cannot describe the feelings of how my heart was full, watching as she pointed to us and telling those around her that we were there," shares Plummer Foster Mom Lidia.

When she showed up for her 7-year-old foster daughter's spring concert and a 9-year-old foster son's school play it meant the world.

Because as she put it: "We're not here to change lives, but here to support them in their process of healing, of growth, and keeping them safe and loved."

That is what true support looks like. If you've ever thought about becoming a foster parent, we'd love to talk. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4nRsJGN

When we converted this space into a conference room, we noticed faint marks worn into the wood over decades. Markings left behind by the beds of children who once slept here.

If you look carefully, you can see just how close they were to one another. We chose to preserve them as a quiet reminder of the uncertainty, loss, and challenges carried by the young people who once called this place home.

This May, as we honor National Foster Care Month, this room tells two stories at once. The Caroline Plummer House is now a strategic hub where our teams gather to move our mission forward, and beneath every meeting and every next step, these patinas remain.

A reminder of where we started. Proof of how far we've come. We continue to honor this history by advancing our mission of connecting young people in foster care with the family and lifelong connections they deserve. ๐Ÿ’–

On Memorial Day, we honor those who gave everything โ€” who left home and never made it back. Their sacrifice reminds us how precious it is to have a place to belong, people who love you, a door that's always open.

Today we remember those who cannot come home. And we hold close what they fought so hard to protect. ๐Ÿค

This weekend, most of us have plans with people we love.

A family cookout. A road trip. A long phone call with someone you've been meaning to catch up with. Family is a constant most of us have never had to think twice about.

For many young people in foster care that's not always the case. Connection isn't a luxury. It's what we're all made for.

This National Foster Care Month, we're holding space for every young person who deserves someone to call. Wishing everyone a warm and restful weekend with the people who matter most.
