Our vision is every young person has a family unconditionally
committed to nurture, protect, and guide them to
successful adulthood.

Young people who leave the foster care or juvenile justice system without safe, stable & permanent family connections face grim outcomes, including high rates of homelessness, unemployment, early parenting and lack of education. Plummer’s mission is to set a standard of excellence that improves outcomes for young people in or at risk of entering state care by deeply engaging youth, families, and the systems that impact them to develop permanent family relationships, skills, and community connections.

When a young person at Plummer told us what they wanted to be for the Halloween Parade, Residential Clinician Kasey Blume brought his character to life. She hand-carved a pumpkin head so the costume could be exactly what the young person imagined!

As Residential Clinician, Kasey provides trauma-informed, skill-based clinical services to youth and young adults in Plummer’s residential programs. She supports their mental health and emotional regulation as they navigate their experiences of grief and loss.

Belonging starts with feeling seen. Celebrating a young person’s interests and creating opportunities to be part of a community.

We’re so thankful to Kasey for supporting youth in our care and building their confidence while on their journey back to family.

A dedicated group of mediators came together to learn best practices at our Pathway for Permanency Mediators Training. Participants practiced two approaches to mediating permanent plans for children in foster care: the Family Consultation Team model and Cooperative Permanency Planning.

Skilled mediators help families come together to develop safe, stable plans for the future. We are grateful to every participant for their commitment to children and families!

Every young person deserves to be treated with respect.

Research shows more than twice as many youth in foster care are bullied at least monthly compared with youth living with their birth families. Young people in foster care deserve kindness, inclusion, and respect in every classroom and hallway.

If you see bullying, speak up. During this National Bullying Prevention Month, let’s create a world where everyone feels welcomed.

Help us grow our garden and restore our roots! 🌱

Our second garden clean-up is coming on November 8th. A perfect opportunity to volunteer in the Fall! Help us restore the Plummer Youth Promise Garden, a space where young people in foster care will grow fresh food, learn sustainable gardening practices, and build a lasting connection with the environment.

Last night was pure Halloween magic! 🎃 We marched in the Salem Chamber Haunted Happenings Grand Parade alongside young people in our program.

Dressed as old school farmers for old school Halloween and honoring Plummer's history. Showing up for the things young people love, like Halloween, helps them feel seen, comfortable, and celebrated.

This is how connection grows. 💙
