Camp Sun Chasers is heading out on three exciting field trips this July, giving campers the chance to explore, learn, and create unforgettable memories with friends.

The REC — July 7
Oregon Zoo — July 21
Carousel — July 28

Did you know Camp Sun Chasers is going on field trips this summer?! ☀️

Join Camp Sun Chasers for a summer of exploration, learning, and adventure.

This year’s field trips for Calvary will take campers on exciting experiences, including a movie experience at Northern Lights, an immersive art experience at the Hallie Ford Museum, and a day full of STEM and excitement at the Gilbert House.

July 14 – Northern Lights Movie Theatre
August 4 – Hallie Ford Art Museum
August 11 – Gilbert House

Each trip is just $5 and includes transportation, a field trip T-shirt, snacks, and engaging educational activities.

Join Camp Sun Chasers for a summer of exploration, learning, and adventure.

This year’s field trips will take campers on exciting experiences, including bird watching and nature discovery at Ankeny Hill Nature Center, hands-on aviation learning at Evergreen Aviation, and a chance to explore rocks, crystals, and geodes at the Rock Show.

June 23 – Ankeny Hill Nature Center
June 30 – Evergreen Aviation
August 14 – Rock Show

Congratulations to our 2026 Sticker Contest winner, Myriam!

Myriam is finishing 5th grade, and loves to draw and be creative - her favorite medium to use is colored pencils. This summer will be her last time in our before and after school program. We will miss her, but she is beyond excited to start middle school next year!

Summer in Oregon means time spent around rivers, lakes, pools, and open water. It also means water safety needs to stay top of mind for all of us.

Marion County experiences fatal drownings and near-drownings every year, especially around natural waterways. Many of these tragedies are preventable through education, supervision, swim lessons, and proper safety equipment.

The YMCA encourages families to remember:
✔️ Never leave children unattended near water
✔️ Stay distraction-free while supervising
✔️ Wear lifejackets near open water
✔️ Learn CPR
✔️ Swim with a buddy
✔️ Teach children basic water safety skills early

This summer, we’re proud to continue supporting local families through water safety education, swim lessons, family aquatic events, and community lifejacket distribution efforts.

Together, we can help create safer experiences around water for everyone in our community.
