Now that most of the heavy lifting is done, the little things are starting to come together!

Our original sign from Walker Street now hangs in the hallway of the East building. Our “company store” is almost ready to open, just a few more items need to be displayed. We will post when it’s complete!

We can’t wait to see you!

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and this year's theme says it plainly: Celebrating Value and Talent.

The value is real. The talent is real. And in Missouri's Extended Employment Sheltered Workshops, both show up every single day... not just in October.

We wrote about what that looks like and why NDEAM still matters. Read it on the MASWM blog: https://maswm.org/ndeam-2026-celebrating-the-value-and-talent-of-missouris-workforce/

We are excited to announce that our recycling service will be back in full swing tomorrow!

We did everything we possibly could to be up and running on October 5th. However, the logistics of moving not only raw materials for jobs, finished product, machinery, technology and more on a bare bones non-profit budget in just 2 days dictated otherwise.

Moving is expensive. Sheltered workshops do not have the kind of money required to hire a company to do that for them. Instead, 28 unstoppable employees with different abilities and 6 dedicated staff members accepted the challenge and got it done. Six SRI-owned semi truckloads, countless Isuzu recycling truck loads and so very many personal vehicles full of “stuff” later and we have finally arrived at our forever home ❤️

There’s nothing our recycling crew wanted more than to be out in our community, collecting cardboard and preparing it for pickup by our recycling partner. But that crew played an integral part in getting us to where we needed to be last week.

Thank you to our cardboard route customers who graciously showed us patience and understanding throughout these past couple of weeks. You will be all be given a two-week credit on your next invoice. We truly appreciate you.

And thank you to our amazing, faithfully supportive community. We just simply could not continue this very important mission without you ❤️

It's National Disability Employment Awareness Month! 🎉

This year's theme is Celebrating Value and Talent, and in Missouri, that's nothing new.

Missouri's Extended Employment Sheltered Workshops have been creating meaningful jobs for decades. This year, some of our member shops are celebrating 60 years of paychecks earned, skills built, and teams formed in their communities.

That's thousands of Missourians who show up, do real work, and take pride in it.

This October, we're celebrating the people and the workshops behind that history.
