Little Egypt Festival

Some of you might remember about 5-6 years ago we were honored to have WWII POW Wilbert Rolves in the parade. Sadly Wilbert has passed away after a long full life of 102 years. He was an absolute joy to talk with. RIP Sir and thank you for the bravery and heroism you showed while being held by the Germans.

Vince was born on February 23rd, 1924 and passed away on August 25th, 2026 at the age of 102

Some of you younger people might not realize this, but Dolly Parton performed in Salem as part of the Little Egypt festival. We would love to be able to offer some sort of concert or entertainment by someone a lot of people are familiar with. That cost way more money than we can ever raise a budget for our festival. If any of you are good at finding good sponsorships, and raising money, we would love to have you on our festival committee. Reach out, I would love to talk to you

Hey Churches, your growing presence each year in the parade has been wonderful. Please make sure you contact us for an entry form so the community can see your church in action. There is no entry fee for you. Thanks!

Hey everyone. Parade forms are ready for pickup at the WJBD office. If you need one emailed, please message this page with your email address but I ask that you please return to WJBD with entry fee. Please do not ask if you can "catch us the day of the parade with the fee". We have a small committee that will be very busy that day. Thanks!

Sorry for the late post on this but The Little Egypt Festival is saddened to hear of the passing of Frank Richards. He and his wife Jeannine were instrumental in helping start the Little Egypt Festival and were Grand Marshalls just a few short years ago. Frank has called me every year just to make sure everything is going ok. Always a welcomed call and he will be missed. Thanks Mr Richards for your years of community service.

Frank Richards Jr., 92, of Salem, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, leaving behind a legacy of service...

WE HAVE A GRAND MARSHAL! STEVE LUDWIG
Salem Bowl owner and SCHS Bowling coach. (He works with many other schools as well). As a coach, he has won 3 State Championships, 2 2nds and 2 3rds. He was a unanimous decision with the festival committee and we are looking forward to it.
