The Cecil Eastridge Founders Award will be presented in the future on Scout Sunday to a scout or scouts who meet the requirements. This giving us the opportunity every Scout Sunday to thank Cecil Eastridge, Troop 352 and Locust Grove United Methodist Church. A board will be formed in this upcoming year to establish a committee to head the Cecil Eastridge Founders Award. Cecil Eastridge, Troop 352

Scoutmaster, and one troop member and one Locust Grove member. This board will work on all requirements and review applicants. Some requirements will include the scout must be an Eagle Scout and an essay on what scouting and their community means to them. This will be an award that is also presented with a monetary award to be used for higher education. There are gold bordered patches that are for donors' of $20 or greater. This is an Official Boy Scout patch and may be worn on the right shirt pocket of the Boy Scout Uniform. Wearing and displaying the patch another way to promote Locust Grove United Methodist Church, Boy Scout Troop 352, Salem and Glenvar area, and of course Cecil Eastridge. A plaque has been hanged in the fellowship hall with all recipients of this awards names placed on it.

Today we celebrated the 75th anniversary of Camp Powhatan. In 1995 Cecil attended and was on the 45th anniversary group. Today we opened a time capsule from 2000 Cecil also attended the sealing of this time capsule. I had the pleasure today to be present in honor of Cecil who attended Camp Powhatan for 70 years.

Cecil Eastridge passed away today peacefully at home. This is his 79th year in scouting. He was also one of the founding members of Troop 352.

May the Great Scoutmaster of all Scouts be with us until we meet again, and may our footsteps lead unto Him.
