Inadvertently misspelled Kayden's last name on the picture. Apologies. Corrected.

The Salem Sports and Breakfast Club Les Schwab Athlete of the Week, from South Salem Boys Cross Country, is Kayden Bejar.

Kayden, a senior and 3rd-year varsity runner, is a team captain for the Saxons. At the 5K season opener Kayden placed 7th with the fastest time from the Central Valley Conference. He then placed 3rd in the very competitive Mook Invite and last weekend he ran in the Danner Division at Nike Portland, improving his season best to 16:16. Kayden currently leads the CVC by over 12 seconds.

Coach Alisha Bach describes Kayden as "a very dedicated runner."

This is Kayden's second AoW honor, having received recognition last year as a junior.
