Hogar Infantil

Hogar Infantil Hogar Infantil provides kids in Chiapas with education, food, clothing, shelter to overcome poverty. American and Mexican donors make Hogar Infantil possible.

Affectionately referred to as "the Ranch," Hogar Infantil has been providing a safe home for children of extreme poverty for over 50 years. Hogar Infantil is set up family-style, with children and youth living in houses according to age and gender. For each "cabin" a loving house parent oversees their everyday activities, schoolwork, chores and needs of the children. A director and sub-director l

ive on site, and a driver, a few cooks, and a night watchman complete the staff. Please find out more about how to support our work at www.hogarinfantil.org. Because the Ranch is a working farm with sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks and a few seasonal crops, the children are given chores daily. However, their educational work comes first, and we believe in adequate social and athletic time as well. Also, performing jobs around the grounds they are given a sense of belonging to a family. Children who come to live at Hogar are not usually without families, but rather simply live in enough poverty that going to school is too much of a strain on families. Some children have lost one or both parents, or some live in remote areas and do not have money for transportation, uniform, and school supplies. Hogar welcomes them for as long as they wish to continue their studies, so long as they comply with chores, do their best in school, and treat each other with love. Many professionals have finished their dentistry, MD, teacher, lawyer, etc degrees with the support of Hogar Infantil. Often times those who have grown up at the Ranch consider each other family.

⭐️ TODAY IS GIVING TUESDAY! ⭐️

🛠 In the spirit of holiday giving, make a donation this to fund important repairs to our buildings, like the ones in this video!

🌈 Hogar Infantil helps end poverty for children in Chiapas, Mexico by providing education, food, clothing and shelter. Unfortunately, a combination of time, earthquakes and many rainy seasons has taken a toll on two of our essential buildings. A recent structural assessment indicated immediate repairs are needed for these buildings to be safely occupied.

📈 Our Safe and Healthy Spaces Capital Campaign has reached just over HALF of our $65,000 goal. Help us meet our goal by Dec. 31! Make a donation today at: https://www.hogarinfantil.org/safe-and-healthy-spaces

📢 Help Hogar Infantil ensure safe and healthy spaces for our children and staff into the future! 🏡

A combination of time, earthquakes, and many rainy seasons have taken their toll on two of our concrete buildings — the Casa Grande and the Director’s House. A recent engineering structural assessment indicated immediate repairs are needed for these two buildings to be safely occupied. Please consider making a special gift today to help us reach our $65,000 goal!

The Casa Grande (building at left) is the “heart” of the Ranch—-it is the gathering place for the community. It’s also 50 years old and needs urgent repairs.
