Friendly reminder to support the School Supply Drive! Last day to donate is August 14.

Each summer, CASA of Marion County organizes a school supply drive for our children in foster care. Please join us in setting up our youth for academic success! Way to support our drive:

- Host a school supply dropbox at your place of work
- Donate online and we shop for school supplies using your donation
- Drop off brand-new backpacks and other school essentials (boxes of crayons, pens, pencils, etc) at our office

In many foster care cases, a CASA volunteer may be the one consistent adult whose only job is to speak up for what a child truly needs. That quiet courtroom table—with a small backpack, a stuffed animal, and a CASA badge—represents a steady voice standing in when a child can’t be there. VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Susan has been a CASA since August of 2020 and has served as CASA for 3 children in that time. She has been assigned to her current youth for over three years now and is the only person that has been with him for the entirety of the case. Caseworkers, resource parents, and community supports have come and gone but Susan has been one of the only constants for him during this time. She recently volunteered at our community booth at the Salem Juneteenth event and was an incredible advocate for the program.

From July 1, 2025 until June 30, 2026, Susan gave over 117 hours and logged over 2,100 miles working on her case. This extraordinary sacrifice is one of the reasons why we love Susan!
