Beach day at the barn 🏖️ Since we got new arena footing, the 4H kids decided to sacked out the horses with umbrellas, a pop up tent, beach balls, towels, windbreakers and floaties. Getting ready for those Summer trail rides. Worked on two gaming patterns then ended the ride with a short trail ride around the neighborhood. Trying to get the horses in shape this Spring. Is it Summer yet? ☀️

Get Up & Gallop galloped into Spring with a horse show at the Yamhill county fairgrounds and it was a busy one! One member showed her horse for the very first time and we were all cheering her on. English classes were a whirlwind affair, with two members making their English debut and totally rocking it. Showmanship classes were sardine-packed, with over 10 participants in each age division fighting for attention. Horses were on point and everyone was stoked for the Western classes. Parents were the real rockstars, keeping track of the kids and offering non-stop encouragement. What an amazing team we have this year, everyone gained valuable experience and walked away happy with their project horse.

This year, we celebrated our annual end of the season camping trip at Willamette Mission, and boy, did we have some fun. The kids got to camp out with their trusty steeds, rode the trails, played games, and made some fantastic memories. The weather was warm, but not warm enough to melt the kids. We had a fantastic time with 10 horses to take out on the trails. The awards ceremony was the perfect ending, showcasing each members achievement and talent. A fantastic group of young adults that I am proud to be apart of.
