The Arc Oregon is looking for a Public Policy Coordinator to join our team.

The Public Policy Coordinator is an independent contractor supporting the legislative advocacy and engagement work of The Arc Oregon.

The role covers:
• Legislative advocacy and communication
• Coordinating Chapters of The Arc Day at the Capitol
• Supporting advocates in their interactions with the Legislature

The 2026 Self-Advocacy Convention will take place on Tuesday, November 17 at the Hilton Portland Downtown in Portland.

This will be an Oregon-specific self-advocate event leading up to The Arc of the United States’s National Convention on November 18-20.

The Self-Advocate Leadership and Ambassador Program is a virtual training program for new self-advocates. You will learn important advocacy skills and work with a peer mentor to advocate for something you care about.

There will be seven training sessions held on Zoom. The sessions will take place every other Monday from 3:00 PM-4:00 PM. The first training session is on Monday, August 17.

This program is open to all adults with IDD who live in Oregon. If you want to join, fill out the application form before August 11, 2026.

We have exciting news: The Arc of the United States National Convention is coming to Portland, OR!

The Arc's National Convention brings members of the IDD community together from across the entire United States.

Self-advocates, supporters, professionals, and family members are all invited to attend this three-day conference.

The Arc Oregon will host our annual Self-Advocacy Convention on November 17, 2026 to help as many people prepare for the National Convention as possible.

We will share more information about these events soon. We cannot wait to see you there!
