Instead of “How was your day?”, try questions that open the door to real connection 💬✨

Ask things like:
💭 “What made you laugh today?”
🎨 “Did anything surprise you?”
🤝 “Who did you sit with at lunch?”
❤️ “What was something kind you did or saw?”

These questions invite your child to share their world — not just their day.

👉 For more ways to connect with your child, check out Guidance from The Therapist Parent at www.thetherapistparent.com or on Amazon.

I love the timeliness of this 2014 Facebook memory of our dear friend and volunteer, Jess Armas, as he was teaching us how to help others find hope.

“My vision systement would say, ‘I am hope for the hopeless.’”-Jess Armas

And he was!

My hope is to digitize these trainings to be able to continue to offer these trauma trainings to our volunteers.

Thanks Jess! We’ll take it from here 🙏🏼

Babies are on our mind tonight FaceBook friends. One of our moms is in the hospital to deliver her baby girl 🌸 with two big brothers awaiting her arrival also. Much excitement is expected this weekend. Prayers appreciated for a safe delivery for mom and daughter 🙏

If SNAP benefits are disrupted, we will need to come together to weather the coming days, weeks, and months. Here are 4 things you can do:

🍅Give food. Bring food you can spare or donated items to the Food Share warehouse or your closest pantry.

💸Give funds. Your support helps us meet the growing need. You can easily give on our website.

🙋Volunteer. You can make an immediate impact in the fight against hunger in our warehouse, delivering food boxes or driving for Meals on Wheels.

📣Advocate. Make your voice heard by telling the USDA to release emergency SNAP funds as they have done in past shutdowns.
