Yesterday, I was so blessed to be able to stay watching Irwindale Speedway’s Farewell Extravaganza since I had to cancel attendance for family needs. Yes, that bummed me, but the streaming on my cell phone was great! I laughed, remembered so many comments and stories being there for all 25 years, cried tears, and enjoyed seeing so many friends honored and be there racing one last time. The coverage even in the drifting, destruction events that even “starred” a possum escaping a crashing motor home (lol) and great fireworks show at the closing event after midnight. Though I am once again saddened in closing such a great racing facility after only 25 years, I was honored to have been a part of it all those years. Thanks to everyone who participated to make this happen. Now… “On to Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway!”

Sure gonna “miss ya” Wayne, (or “42”)! We’ve both had a long run around the tracks, Series(s), and racing, but I also know beyond a doubt we will find each other around the track in the “retired” days ahead. I can’t wait for that smile Wayne! And, that goes for Buster also. Do ya think the 3 of us can stir up the day a bit?
