Sovah (Serving Our Veterans At Home)

Sovah (Serving Our Veterans At Home) No Veteran Left Behind! SOVAH was created for veterans by veterans.

It is an organization where individuals can volunteer their time or donate to support veterans, and an organization where veterans cam come for help. Veterans have many barriers that are not consistent with civilian life, and SOVAH - with the help of community volunteers - breaks those barriers and helps improve their standard of living.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available! Your support helps us provide resources, meals, supplies, and services to those who have served our nation. Businesses, organizations, and community partners are encouraged to get involved.

โญ Special Thanks to Our Presenting Sponsors โญ

Stay Alive Vets and Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency

This year, we were honored to receive a grant from Stay Alive Vets to help support and expand the services offered at the Stand Down. Their investment in our Veteran community helps ensure that Veterans and their families have access to the resources, support, and connections they deserve.

The MWVCAA has been one the stand down top supporters for the last 15 years.
Their dedication has helped make this event possible year after year. From providing volunteers through their staff to generously sponsoring lunch for this yearโ€™s event, their partnership and commitment to our Veteran community are deeply appreciated.

Please join us in thanking these outstanding organizations for their continued support of those who served.

Please share this post and flyer with Veterans, military families, and community members who may benefit from attending or supporting this important event.

Together, we can ensure no Veteran stands alone.

๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ THE FIRST SEEDS ARE IN THE GROUND! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐ŸŒฑ

Today we planted the very first veggies for our Veterans Community Garden at On The Edge Farm in Dallas, Oregonโ€ฆ and honestly, it feels like the start of something really special. ๐Ÿ’š

This garden is more than rows of vegetables. Itโ€™s about:
๐ŸŒฟ connection
๐ŸŒฟ purpose
๐ŸŒฟ healing
๐ŸŒฟ community
๐ŸŒฟ and giving veterans a place to gather, work side by side, laugh, decompress, and grow something meaningful together.

A portion of what we grow will also help support veterans and community meals. ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅฌ

We are still looking for more volunteers! You do not need to know how to garden. If you can:
โ˜€๏ธ pull weeds
โ˜€๏ธ plant seeds
โ˜€๏ธ water plants
โ˜€๏ธ carry supplies
โ˜€๏ธ or simply come hang out and support the missionโ€ฆ

โ€ฆthen we would love to have you join us. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

This is grassroots therapy with dirt under our boots and sunshine on our backs. ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿชด

If youโ€™d like to volunteer, donate supplies, or help support the garden, send me a message! Letโ€™s grow something amazing together for our veterans and community. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฅ•

As Memorial Day approaches, Salem has several opportunities for our community to come together in remembrance of the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

From the Oregon Statewide Memorial Day Ceremony at the Capitol, to remembrance services at City View Cemetery and Restlawn Memorial Gardens, there are meaningful ways to honor our fallen heroes this Memorial Day.

Whether you attend a ceremony, take a quiet walk through our veterans memorials, or simply pause in reflection, let us never forget the courage, sacrifice, and legacy of those who gave everything for our freedom. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโค๏ธ

Please see flyer below for event details and join us as we remember, honor, and pay tribute to our heroes.

We are so excited to invite our community to be part of the Veterans Community Garden at On the Edge Farm in Dallas, Oregon!

This project is about more than planting vegetables. Itโ€™s about creating a place where veterans, families, and community members can come together, get their hands in the dirt, build connections, and create something meaningful that gives back.

Everyone is welcome to come help! No experience needed, just a willing heart and a desire to support our veterans and community. Whether you can volunteer, donate, or simply stop by and cheer us on, every little bit helps.

We are just in the 1st phase of this project so we have a lot of work and would love the help .

A portion of what we grow in the garden will be donated to VFW Post 661 to help support their weekly free meals for veterans. So this garden wonโ€™t just grow vegetables, it will help feed veterans right here in our local community.
