Republic Services workers in Salem, Ore., represented by Teamsters Local 324, have voted decisively to ratify a new three-year contract. The group of 55 workers won big gains from the multibillion-dollar waste corporation, including higher wages, increased employer contributions to their pension, and additional paid time off.

“I have worked at Republic in Salem for 21 years and have seen many contracts over my career. This new one is by far the biggest and most meaningful in our history,” said Will Bole, a steward and proud member of Local 324. “The only reason we were able to get it done is the unshakable solidarity of our Teamsters brothers and sisters.”

Day #461 - Roseburg, OR! For those in the community driving by thinking the Bigfoot labor dispute is over, or sees the tent in the pouring rain and wind and thinks it’s a homeless camp, our members continue to be locked out. For 461 days, they’ve been in the elements picketing to get their jobs back and fighting against a company that took away their pension! The fight is not over!

Local 324 members at Republic Services met at our Hall last night on September 25th to review contract proposals for upcoming negotiations. Their contract expires October 31, 2025.
