Do you or someone you know need dental care? Arcora Foundation’s SmileMobile is coming to Spokane with general and pediatric dentists.

Dental services are available at no cost to individuals with Apple Health and those without insurance.

Services may include:
✅ Dental examinations
✅ Cleanings and oral-health education
✅ Fillings and X-rays
✅ Fluoride varnish and sealants
✅ Simple extractions

The dental team can serve babies beginning with their first tooth, children, youth, pregnant and postpartum women, and adult family members.

Today marks an important milestone for Sowell Balos, a June 2026 graduate of South Salem High School, as he attends orientation at Chemeketa Community College in Salem.

After graduating, Sowell reached out to MANIT for help enrolling in college and understanding the steps needed to get started. He plans to study business and is now taking the first steps toward earning his college education.

Sowell was encouraged by stories of people who overcame difficulties, continued their education, and became successful leaders. Their journeys showed him that where a person begins does not determine how far they can go.

Now, Sowell’s own journey can inspire other Marshallese graduates. Finishing high school does not have to be the end of their education. College, career training, and certificate programs can open doors to new opportunities and prepare students to serve their families and communities.

Sowell’s story also reminds students that they do not have to understand every part of the college process before taking the first step. Asking questions, seeking guidance, and accepting support are signs of determination and growth.

MANIT’s college-readiness work, supported by Meyer Memorial Trust, helps Marshallese students navigate enrollment and take their first steps toward higher education.

MANIT congratulates Sowell for choosing to continue his education. We hope other Marshallese graduates will follow his example, believe in their potential, and take the next step toward their own future.

OHA is reporting two Oregon residents who developed Cyclospora infections that may be linked to the ongoing multistate cyclosporiasis outbreak.

Both individuals traveled to other states involved in the recent nationwide recall of pre-shredded iceberg lettuce associated with the outbreak.

The risk in Oregon continues to be low because the infection isn’t spread between people and the iceberg lettuce has been recalled.

Cyclosporiasis is a parasitic infection that often spreads from contaminated water or food. People who experience symptoms of cyclosporiasis should stay hydrated and contact a health care provider right away.

Today, we laid to rest one of our respected community leaders, Jokane Bisentha.

His leadership, service, and contributions to our community will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

May God comfort everyone who is grieving, and may Jokane rest in eternal peace. His legacy will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
