“Right hook turns”—when a motorist turns right across the path of a parallel cyclist—are a big cause of bicycle-motor collisions. 🚲💥🚙 It is the motorists responsibility to yield the right-of-way to any approaching bicycles.

Unfortunately, the reality is that cyclists have to keep a close eye on the behavior of drivers as they are approaching intersections in order to stay safe and avoid collisions. Oftentimes, drivers fail to use their signals or check their blind spots before turning.

The Budget Committee consists of the entire City Council and nine appointed resident members who analyze and recommend a budget to the City Council. These handful of people can have a big impact on what happens in the city!

We had so much fun with everyone who joined our group ride + happy hour event this past Saturday! 💚 Salem is lucky to have such a great community of people who love bikes and care about adding more safe bike infrastructure for all.
