Our annual Scholastic book orders are IN! 📚📦🚚 Here are some pictures of behind the scenes! 🎬

The Salem Community Foundation’s literacy initiative includes books passed out at Trail of Treats in October, Gingerbread Day in December, and The Banquet in Salem year-round.

The Teddy Lease Keen Memorial Fund, established in 1997, funds book purchases for the Banquet in Salem.

The Louis H. And Maude S. Brush Memorial Fund, established in 1968, is an unrestricted fund. The SCF Board of Directors votes annually to designate the funds to purchase books for Trail of Treats and Gingerbread Day. Each child receives 1 book to take home at each event.

We hope to see you this fall and winter whether you are attending, participating, or volunteering! 🎃🎄👏🏼

As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we’re reminded that the freedoms we enjoy today were built on the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who came before us.

As President Harry S. Truman once said, “America was built on courage, on imagination, and an unbeatable determination.”

May we honor that legacy by celebrating not only with fireworks and festivities, but also with gratitude for the men and women who have defended our freedom and for the communities that continue to make our country strong.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful 4th of July! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Please enjoy all the activities Salem has to offer this weekend, including the America 250 Parade in downtown Salem on Friday at noon. Have a fun and safe 4th of July weekend from all you friends at Salem Computer Center.

60 Years ✨

What began in 1966 as a vision to create lasting impact has grown into six decades of giving and creating opportunity throughout our community.

Our 60th anniversary celebration was more than an event; it was a celebration of the people who have shaped the Salem Community Foundation’s story.

Fund holders, community leaders, partners, and friends gathered to share a wonderful evening of conversation and gratitude while exploring the Foundation’s remarkable journey from 1966 to 2026.

As the evening came to a close, we witnessed a defining moment in our history with the dedication and renaming of the CenterPlex to The John E. Tonti CenterPlex. This is a lasting tribute to a man whose vision and commitment have helped shape our community for generations.

To everyone who has been part of our story over the past 60 years… THANK YOU!

Your generosity has created opportunities, strengthened our community, and inspired a legacy that will continue for generations to come.

This is more than our history. It’s our future for the place we all call home.

Here’s to the next 60 years! 🎉🥳

A huge shoutout to the Salem 12th man football program for volunteering at our celebration! 👏🏼🏈

The football players welcomed guests, assisted with parking, and genuinely enjoyed an evening celebrating with us! 🎉

A huge thank you to the Salem Community Foundation for allowing Salem Football to be part of your 60th Anniversary Gala!

Our players were honored to help welcome guests and assist with parking for such a special evening celebrating six decades of making a difference in our community.

Opportunities like this allow our young men to give back, connect with community members, and represent Salem Football with pride. Thank you for your continued investment in Salem and for including our players in this memorable event.

The Salem Police Department K-9 Fund was established at the Salem Community Foundation in 2015.

Through many generous donations and fundraising, this fund has equipped the Salem Police Department K-9 Unit for success and the continued goal of keeping our community safe.

Thank you and shoutout to Sgt. Michael Garber, Ptl. Steve LaRosa, and Ptl. Tanor English along with their partners K-9 Simon, K-9 Chaz, K-9 Argo, and K-9 Fero. 🐾

It was an honor to be recognized as one of the funds supported and managed by the Salem Community Foundation.

The Salem Community Foundation is an outstanding organization that plays a vital role in strengthening our community. Their commitment to supporting local initiatives, organizations, and causes serves as a model for communities everywhere. We are grateful for their partnership and continued dedication to making a positive difference
