Kevin G. is an Army Veteran who entered VETcare in February 2023 and has since been working toward rebuilding stability, independence, and hope for the future. During his time in the program, Kevin has obtained his driver’s license, connected with VA health care, participated in community outings with fellow veterans, and even learned to play guitar through a class offered during his journey. He continues working toward permanent housing and greater self-sufficiency while building meaningful connections and confidence along the way.

Army Veteran Brock did a big thing today.

After being successfully housed last month, Brock has continued building momentum toward stability and independence. This month, he achieved another major milestone: purchasing a vehicle for the first time in a long time.

Now onto the next goal: enrolling in welding school. We can’t wait to see him continue to thrive.
We at VETcare are incredibly proud of Brock and all the hard work he has put in to reach these goals. Keep up the great work, Brock!

While picking up Amazon donation boxes, Mark met a community member who shared that Veteran Brian would soon be released from prison with nowhere to go. Mark immediately connected him with VETcare before his release, helping Brian transition into stable housing and support.

Their first face-to-face meeting after that initial connection was a powerful full circle moment. This is what community partnership is all about and we’re grateful for every connection that helps ensure no Veteran is left without support.

A Navy Veteran has officially moved into a new apartment after transitioning from VETcare Transitional Housing, marking the start of an exciting new chapter. His patience and perseverance truly paid off, and this milestone is so well deserved.

Over the next six months, he will continue receiving case management support to help him stay connected to resources and build long term stability and independence.

A special thank you to Honoring Heroes for providing furniture, a TV, and essential household items, and to the Salem Elks Lodge for the thoughtful Welcome Home Box. It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful for the support of our veteran community.

This week had the honor of welcoming Quilts of Valor Foundation to VETcare. Veterans who signed up were presented with beautifully handcrafted quilts in recognition of their service, sacrifice, and valor.

The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. These quilts are not simply gifts—they are carefully made and awarded as a heartfelt “thank you” to those who served our nation.

We are grateful to be part of moments like these and to witness the appreciation and support shown to our Veterans.

Huge congratulations to Army Veteran Brent on moving into his permanent home! After a successful stay in transitional housing at VETcare, Brent has shown exactly what determination looks like.

A special thank you to the Salem Elks Lodge for the generous "Welcome Home" box. Partnerships like this make "Move-In Day" truly special.

We’re looking forward to supporting Brent over the next six months as he builds a strong, self-sufficient future. Cheers to your next chapter, Brent! 🇺🇸
