Our bubble glazing workshop with Karen Hackney is tomorrow! Be there from 1:00-5:00PM to play with bubbles and the mesmerizing textures they add to ceramic pieces.

No experience necessary, but we highly recommend wearing an apron. It's messy and fun!

Stained glass is back at the WAC! These popular (and colorful) workshops have been a huge hit. This time we'll be making this Frank Lloyd Wright inspired piece and we can't wait to see how these look in person when they're finished. Come make with us!

You've got TWO Clayathon chances in the studio this weekend to help prepare more pieces for our upcoming Empty Bowls fundraiser. We're making on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00-5:00PM.

Sunday's event includes a very special bubble glazing workshop from artist and dear friend to the WAC, Karen Hackney. Join us for a weekend of fun, food, music, bubbles and of course, CLAY!

Our WAC community is lucky to have so many incredible, generous artists. Among them is Holli Pearson, a talented and creative ceramicist who does both hand building and wheel.

Holli's first class at the studio got her hooked. She says one night when she saw a piece on the shelf that she thought was pretty, it turned out to be hers! Holli brings that same spirit of joy and playfulness to our studio all the time.

Information on the pieces in these images:
The mug is made from porcelain with either blue or green celadon on the rim, then clear glazed all over.

The small bowl is Dakota White clay with a poppy transfer, painted with orange and red Stroke and Coat on the flowers and light blue in the background. Then clear glazed.

For the cat, Holli used Dakota White clay with white Stroke and Coat on the nose and letters. When the piece came out of the kiln, Holli used Peaches' (the actual cat) fur to make the dark markings.

Holli can't recall the clay body she used for the vase but she glazed it with Copper Sands all over. She used a thin layer of glaze in the raised areas and thicker in the pattern.
