The Tennessee Amateur Radio Association is proud to announce its support for the newly formed amateur radio club at E.A. Cox Middle School in Maury County, Tennessee.
The initiative began when the school club’s sponsor Landon Frazier reached out to the association requesting assistance in locating someone willing to donate a used radio to help the young members construct their very first VHF/UHF portable station. Upon receiving the request, the Tennessee Amateur Radio Association responded swiftly. Following a vote by its Board of Directors, State Director Riley Amoriello announced Wednesday that the association will fully cover the cost of a 50 watt 4 band radio and power supply. In addition, the association will be covering the license testing fees for students and assisting the club with establishing its required paperwork.
"Action speaks louder than words, and when our communities need us, we just do it no fluff," said Amoriello, State Director of the Tennessee Amateur Radio Association. "Whether responding with resources when Helene devastated Northeast Tennessee or stepping up to empower students in Maury County Today, our commitment remains steadfast. We pride ourselves in keeping our dues right here in the Volunteer State, and we are thankful for our members whose support allows us to leave amateur radio better than we found it for everyone, including our next generation of operators."
