When we talk about grief we often think about the sadness that comes with loss.
But we don't often talk about the anger that comes along when you lose someone.
Anger because what you thought would be is no longer. Anger because they're just not here anymore. There was nothing more you could do. You couldn't make it better, you couldn't fix it.
I'm angry Gerald is no longer here.
But, when I think of all the lives he touched. All the smiles and laughs he gave us, I can't be angry.
All that anger is because he was loved so much.
Hearing from so many of you, how much you loved him and his story. What a huge role he played in building For Goat Sake, I can't be angry about that.
The memories we share, the connections and community we've built, his memory lives on in that. Not only does he live on in each of these souls, he lives on as For Goat Sake, he was the foundation of who we are and what we do.
Animals that aren't even here yet will know who Gerald was. They'll hear the stories of The Coolest Goat that ever lived.
