The Island Players has been dedicated to bringing live community theatre to Coastal Georgia since 1956. The non-profit organization is an all-volunteer organization governed and managed by a Board of Directors. We receive funding from corporate and private donations, and membership subscription. Season offerings include four mainstage productions, featuring at least one musical, and a Christmas pr

oduction for adults and kids. We also provide a six-week Young People's Summer Workshop which has attracted 80 to 100 young people from the ages of 8 to 18 for over 27 years. Additional programs for the youth in the area include The Island Players Teen Actors Guild (IPTAG) and a scholarship program which is offered to dedicated students who meet high academic qualifications and have made a significant contribution of their time and talent to the theatre. Adults $25
Students (18 and under) $10 each

You must choose your seat at the time of purchase, therefore, buy your tickets early to ensure you get the best seat possible. The box office opens 1 hour before showtime, and the doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Show Times: Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, Sunday Matinees are at 3:00pm

Come see a hilarious live theatre production that has catchy music, a classic Broadway vibe with a fun twist. It's a fast paced, laugh out loud comedy, with dancing and a real clever plot.

Based on the hit 1988 film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels follows 2 rival con men on the glamorous French Riviera, who place high stakes bets to see who can swindle an American heiress first.

About the Show:
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, based on the popular 1988 MGM film, takes us to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity. Sophisticated, suave with a good dash of mischief, this hysterical comedy features a delightfully jazzy score by David Yazbek (The Full Monty) and was nominated for a staggering eleven Tony Awards.

Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother's failing health. After meeting on a train, they attempt to work together, only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress, Christine Colgate, wins, and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end!

The show explores the dark comedy of control, ego, and the lengths people will go to protect their public image. Whether you’ve been lied to or bent the truth to save face, this performance is a hilarious dose of comedic therapy tackling the absurd pressures of modern life.

Beetlejuice Jr. is a 60-minute comedic musical adaptation of the hit Broadway show and movie Beetlejuice JR. on Music Theatre International. It follows Lydia Deetz, a grieving teenager obsessed with death, who moves into a new house haunted by a dead couple and a mischievous demon named Beetlejuice. When Lydia asks Beetlejuice for help, he tricks them and creates wild chaos.

It's great for the whole family but especially popular with children 10 and up. Please make plans to see Beetlejuice Jr before the show ends.

If you're worried, it's a comedy and not scary for kids. We promise it is a fun time and you'll be singing along before the end.
