St Pete Elite 8U defeated SWAG American 8U 10-6 on Sunday at 3120 Tampa Rd.
St Pete Elite 8U opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two doubles. St Pete Elite 8U first got on the board when Leonardo S doubled, scoring one run.
SWAG American 8U scored one run in the bottom of the first on an inside the park home run by Brody W.
St Pete Elite 8U added one run in the second after Owen C doubled down the left field line.
A fielder’s choice by Blake M extended the St Pete Elite 8U lead to 6-1 in the top of the third inning.
Josh C began the game for St Pete Elite 8U. The starting pitcher surrendered nine hits and six runs over six innings, striking out none and walking none. Bradley G stepped on the hill first for SWAG American 8U. The pitcher allowed 18 hits and 11 runs over six innings, striking out one and walking none.
St Pete Elite 8U piled up 18 hits in the game. Jackson S, Leonardo S, and Owen C each collected three hits for St Pete Elite 8U. Josh C went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with four runs batted in. Lucas C and Paul G each collected multiple hits for St Pete Elite 8U. St Pete Elite 8U turned one double play in the game. St Pete Elite 8U were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Lucas C made the most plays with six.
Brody W provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led SWAG American 8U with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Brody W, Brandon P, and Everett R each collected two hits for SWAG American 8U. SWAG American 8U turned two double plays in the game. SWAG American 8U didn’t commit a single error in the field. Zion S had the most chances in the field with five.
