Lifesavers & Laughs: Stand Up to Blood Cancer DKMS Stem Cell Donor Registration Drive

Join us as we team up with St. Pete Young Professionals to stand-up to blood cancer on Thursday, September 3rd at 6:30pm

As you know this is something very close to our hearts at The Jackson Copeland Foundation. Jackson had a Stem Cell / Bone Marrow Transplant in July 2022. It bought us more precious time with him and gave him a fighting chance.❤️‍🩹
His friend had received hers at a very similar time and she is happy and healthy 4 years on🧡

So if you are between the ages of 18-55, please join us for a simple cheek swab, some good beer and lots of laughs. Entrance to the Comedy Show is free if you register as a Stem Cell/ Bone Marrow Donor
Who: The Jackson Copeland Foundation , Pete Young Professionals, and StPeteStandUp Comedy.

What: A donor registration event for the international DKMS US Blood Stem Cell Registry.

When: Thursday, September 3rd from 6:30pm to 8:00pm (followed by a free comedy show for everyone who registers!).

Where: Ale Works, 1962 1st Ave S, St Pete 33712

WHY: For many patients battling high-risk leukemia and other types of blood cancer, a stem cell transplant (also known as a bone marrow transplant) isn’t just another treatment option—it is often their only chance at a cure.

Unlike blood transfusions, stem cell matching is not based on blood type; it relies on a complex genetic marker system called HLA typing. Because these matches are so specific, many patients cannot find a suitable donor within their own families and must rely entirely on the kindness of strangers around the globe.

There are patients out there right now waiting for a matching donor , and you could be the exact match they need to survive!

The process is simple, register on-line, swab your cheek and we will do the rest for you.

You will only be called upon if you are a match for someone.

Supporting the fight in St Petersburg Florida🎗️
At 35, military veteran William received a life-changing diagnosis: Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
William falls right into our core demographic—Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) patients battling aggressive, hard-to-treat leukemias. Beyond the physical toll, a diagnosis at this stage of life creates an immediate financial burden.
Through our financial grant program, the Jackson Copeland Foundation was proud to step in and offer William relief so he can focus on what matters most: his treatment and healing.

To William: Thank you for your service to our country. Now, let us help support you in this fight. ✨ St. Petersburg and the JCF family are in your corner.

Join us in sending William strength, encouragement and gratitude for his service in the comments 👇🏼

We are proud to be able to support 5 year old Cullen's family with a financial grant that will help ease at least some of their worries.

Supporting the fight in Missouri

Jada is 10 years old. Her life and her family's lives were turned upside down when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2024. Her treatment will continue into 2028. Such prolonged treatment has obvious impacts on the famiy's financial security.

We are honored that because of the support of our community and supporters that we were able to offer Jada's family a financial grant to help alleviate the financial burden.

Please drop a 🧡 in the comments👇🏼 to let Jada know we are in her corner and that no one fights alone

Supporting the fight in New Jersey

2 year old Giavanna was diagnosed with ALL in January 2024

The financial implications of a leukemia diagnosis is all too common, sadly, we hear this story everyday !
Giavanna's mom wrote
"I am out of work caring for her full-time since her diagnosis. With our insurance yearly deductible recently resetting, the cost of her chemotherapy and medications is too expensive. I can’t afford it I am behind on everything. We also travel a long distance for her treatments, adding expenses like gas and tolls daily needs being on the road... I’m just a single mom trying my best to focus on getting my daughter healthy."

We were honored to be able to offer a financial grant to help alleviate some of the financial burden.

Drop a 🧡 in the comments👇🏼 and let Giavanna and her mom Ali know that no one fights alone
