We are overwhelmed by the incredible outpouring of support for the inaugural St. Pete New Works Festival. From those signing up for updates to the many volunteers offering their time and services—this is truly what community looks like.

A huge thank you to the St Pete Catalyst for their coverage of this historic partnership. Here is what our festival leaders have to say about this collaboration:

Alan Mohney Jr. (The Off-Central): “The St. Pete New Works Festival is a necessity for the growth of the arts here in St. Pete... We are thrilled to bring new stories to our community.”

Avery Anderson (Story Keepers): “We are showing that through collaboration, St. Pete is a collective sanctuary where artists can take risks and find their voice.”

Erica Sutherlin (The Studio at 620): “By partnering with our peers, we are ensuring that St. Petersburg remains a beacon for diversity, innovation, and the next generation of great American stories.”

Eric Davis (freeFall Theatre Company): “This creates an open format for organizations to show work that simply needs to be new... It should be a fun and varied mix of events.”

Something big is brewing in the "City of the Arts." 🎭✨

While national incubators for new plays are closing their doors, St. Pete is doubling down. We are thrilled to officially announce the St. Pete New Works Festival—a historic two-week "living laboratory" running from March 25 – April 4, 2027.

This isn't just a festival; it’s a defiant statement of community. Four of St. Pete’s leading arts non-profits are joining forces to ensure our city remains a sanctuary for creative evolution:

✨ Story Keepers
✨ freeFall Theatre
✨ The Studio@620
✨ The Off-Central Players

Expect world premieres, Florida premieres, staged readings, and professional networking across multiple venues. We are proving that St. Pete isn't just a destination for finished work—it’s where the next great American stories are born.

ONE LAST TIME.

This Sunday is the final chance to experience The Pink Unicorn — a one-woman performance that has sparked conversation, packed rooms, and lingered long after the lights go down.

Performed just a few feet from the audience in community spaces across St. Pete, The Pink Unicorn tells the story of Trisha Lee, a Christian widow forced to confront what love really means when her child comes out as genderqueer and her world begins to fracture. What unfolds is funny, raw, uncomfortable, generous — and deeply human.

Audiences have shown up and can't stop talking about this unique expereince.

Now there’s one last opportunity to be in the room.
