Project Type: Keep Pinellas Beautiful - Neighborhood Cleanup
Date: April 25, 2026
Time: 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Location: Venetian Isles Neighborhood Canals, meet at north side of Kansas and Grand Canal for assignments.

- We will be cleaning up the canals and roadways in Venetian Isles.
- We will distribute supplies including: gloves, trash bags, safety vests, pickers, first aid kit, bug spray, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, a water cooler, and scale to weigh the trash. There will be a dumpster on the corner of Kansas and Grand Canal. It is important that we weigh the trash collected prior to putting in dumpster so we can record on the Event Report.

- Volunteers are required to sign a Liability Waiver when they arrive on event day. Participants under the age of 18 will need to be signed for by a parent or guardian.
- We will provide community service letters for participating students.
- Please wear closed-toe shoes such as boots or sneakers, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing. We also recommend everyone bring a refillable water bottle. We will have bottled water on site.

We need lots of volunteers and some more boats so please contact Julie Scanlon at 727-365-2211 if you want to volunteer or have any questions.

Beer with the Board

We invite you to drop by the corner of Grand Canal and Pt. Overlook to say hello to members of the VIHA board on Saturday from 3 to 5. We invite you to share your thoughts and ideas over a cold beverage. We look forward to seeing you then.

Canal Cleanup (9:00 – 11:00 AM):
We need volunteers with boats, kayaks, or paddleboards to help clear debris from our waterways. The city will provide some materials for the clean up but we mostly need VOLUNTEERS!!! Please email [email protected] if you can help!

Beer with the VIHA Board (3:00 – 6:00 PM):
Stop by the tent on Grand Canal and Overlook the afternoon after the Canal Clean Up for a drink and a casual chat. We want to hear your feedback on how we can continue to improve our community.

VIHA has started using HOA Life, a web based application which should simplify interactions between the VIHA and individual property owners. It will allow for more effective sharing of information online, better document management and, hopefully, foster greater community involvement.

This is also how we would utilize electronic balloting for future Deed Restriction Revisions and where people can find violations, initiate ARC approvals, report issues and communicate with the board.

Residents can also update their personal information like mailing address, emails and phone numbers. None of this data will be shared with anyone outside the VIHA board.

Only a homeowner whose contact data is in the system will get a log in verification code. If you do not have an email or cell phone number with us you will be asked for a property PIN. In this case please contact [email protected] .

Homeowner Data Request

Electronic voting for Venetian Isles residents was approved in August 2025 during the last round of Deed Restrictions (DR) Revisions. This will make it immensely easier for residents to vote on any future Venetian Isles DR revisions. The homeowners association is requesting email addresses and phone numbers for residents, as well as any updated contact information. The emails will ONLY be used to communicate with residents by the homeowners association. The VIHA does post contact information (phone numbers) in its annual directory, which is distributed to dues paying residents.
