Is an independent organization committed to improving the administration of justice. Established in 2002, the St.

Petersburg Bar Foundation is an independent organization committed to improving the administration of justice. The Foundation will accomplish its mission primarily through funding of projects which:

Foster programs of law-related education;
Encourage and promote legal assistance to the poor;

Support and promote programs and projects having as their purpose the improvement of the administration of justice and the dissemination of information to the general public so as to promote a better understanding of the judicial system;

Award grants for scholarships and fellowships for persons and purposes related to the improvement of the legal profession;
Support continuing education programs;
Support the creation of a legal information center for the general public. The Foundation, encourages gifts from individuals, foundations, law firms and corporations. Major gifts, planned gifts and annual donations are also welcome in support of the Foundation's mission and special projects.

AWARD SPOTLIGHT: AMY KEITH | The St. Petersburg Bar Foundation is proud to honor Amy Keith as a 2026 Liberty Bell recipient. Amy Keith is passionate about helping voters make their voices heard in the political process and has been leading nonpartisan voter education work in Pinellas County since 2018. She has served as the Executive Director of Common Cause Florida since 2022 and on the Board of the League of Women Voters of the St Petersburg Area since 2020. She also leads the Florida Election Protection Coalition, which brings together over 40 local, state, and national partners, as well as hundreds of nonpartisan volunteers, to help ensure all eligible Florida voters can cast their ballot and have it counted – in every election.

Her commitment to serving the community embodies the values this award was created to celebrate. From her nomination form: "Kim is a tireless advocate for the community of St Petersburg. She was the Chair of the Board for YMCA of Greater St Petersburg, and serves on the Governance Committee for Academy Prep. But it’s not just that she serves, it’s HOW she serves that deserves recognition. She is welcoming, inclusive and visionary. Everyone around her is better when they experience her enthusiasm and genuine passion for improving the organizations and institutions she is involved with. Recently she left St Petersburg College where she was the Executive Director of the Institute for Strategic Policy Solutions and made her mark even broader than just the St Petersburg community. HERO SPOTLIGHT: MELODIE "DEE" MENZER | This year we proudly recognize Melodie Menzer with the Heroes Among Us Award. Her dedication to serving others extends beyond the practice of law and reflects the very spirit of volunteerism this award celebrates.
