Heels to Heal The Heels to Heal Crisis Counseling program is made possible through strong community support, including grants, private donations, and fundraisers.

Heels to Heal Crisis Counseling program provides free crisis counseling services to children and adults affected by recent incidents of sexual assault and domestic violence. Each year Heels to Heal hosts a fashion show bringing over 300 people together to raise funds, awareness and support for the organization. This notable event has been awarded “Best of the Bay” Fashion Event by Creative Loafing

and provides a unique opportunity for survivors to share their stories. Additionally, Founder and CEO/Executive Director, Melissa Mihok, who is also a survivor, was awarded the 2018 Community Hero Award by the Tampa Bay Lightning Foundation to benefit Heels to Heal Crisis Counseling program. Heels to Heal Inc, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization is dedicated to helping survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence receive the resources necessary for healing. Heels to Heal Crisis Counseling program helps individuals affected by abuse from sexual assault and domestic violence receive quality counseling services by Licensed Mental Health Counselors.

Congratulations to Wendy Ryan as a “Petal of Power” in our community! The “Petal of Power” award is for someone who uplifts others through authenticity, strength, and purpose. Nominees are selected based on their alignment with our mission, their inspirational impact, and their demonstrated leadership and influence within the community.

Wendy is an anchor and reporter with ABC Action News, where she has served since 2003. For over a decade, she has been a driving force behind the Emmy Award-winning Taking Action Against Domestic Violence campaign and primetime special. Her unwavering dedication to raising awareness and advocating for those affected by domestic violence is truly remarkable.

Our volunteers are the reason this all comes to life.

This is what healing looks like in action. 💜

Because of incredible community partners like Leadership St. Pete, children and adults in the Heels to Heal Counseling Program will receive more than just a care package… they’ll receive comfort, encouragement, and a reminder that they are not alone.

Each bag was thoughtfully filled with items to support healing.

For children, that means teddy bears, coloring books, and crayons.
For adults, journals, self-healing resources, and tools for moments when they need grounding most.

And maybe most powerful of all… every single pack included handwritten notes of affirmation.

Take a moment to think about that.

Someone they’ve never met took the time to remind them they matter.
We are so grateful to this incredible team and to Barbara Grilli for leading such a meaningful project. This is community. This is impact.

But here’s the part most people don’t see…

Programs like this only exist because of events like our annual gala.

This Friday, we come together for Fashion in Bloom to fund the counseling and support that survivors rely on every single day.

We’re incredibly grateful to our boutique partners for helping bring this year’s Heels to Heal Fashion Show to life. Each look, each detail, each moment on the runway is made possible because of their creativity and generosity.
