NOMADstudio NOMADstudio - The Art Bus Project - Art for ALL NOMAD puts creativity in motion to fuel connections and nurture communities.
(1)

They do this by mobilizing artists, activating shared spaces, and celebrating creative expression as an essential part of human well-being. NOMAD believes that collaborative culture-making supports well-being, and is a human right. Their network of artists, advocates, and activists work to remove impediments and ensure that the means to exercise this right are available to all. Their work is roote

d in the shared belief that creative expression is for ALL people, and that (as stated in the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights), “everyone has the right to freely participate in the cultural life of the community." In 2013, artist Carrie Boucher transformed a retired bus into a mobile studio to bring hands-on art exploration to the world, and NOMADstudio (Neighborhood Oriented Mobile Art + Design) was born. Today, with help from an ever-growing team, NOMAD continues to build connections through creativity, facilitating thousands of interactions between people and art in public and private spaces every year.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL! 📚🚌🚸
For many school age students, back to school means new clothes and supplies, but there’s no back-to-school shopping for the students being held in detention by Florida courts.

Sending them books to read while they wait for their day in court is one way you can help them pass the time and support their learning.

Through a new partnership with Tombolo Books, we’re getting more books into the hands of youth in the juvenile justice system. Kids find that reading books helps them pass the time during detainment, and we get so many book requests from our Justice Studio participants!

You can help keep these teens reading by buying books for them—find the link in our bio. Any books purchased through the Tombolo registry will go directly to stock our Justice Studio library. This gives justice-involved youth access to the books they love on a twice-weekly basis.

We are taking you and your littles on another journey of eco-friendly creating. This week’s Easy Peasy Project invites the kiddos to turn bits of fabric, yarn, and other materials into colorful collages, soft sculptures and frankly whatever their creative minds come up with.

What if you could paint something you're usually told not to?

That's part of what makes painting the NOMAD bus so exciting. The surprise of painting an unexpected object encourages children to explore, imagine, and see everyday things differently.

This month's Easy-Peasy Project brings that same spirit home.

What starts as a handful of clay can turn into a strawberry, a taco, a pizza, or something no one has ever seen before.

This week's Easy-Peasy Art Project uses Model Magic to explore color mixing, sculpting, and imaginative play. With just a few simple materials, children can create their favorite foods while experimenting with shape, texture, and color.
